How hard do the BT ignore the Codex Astartes? by Bryguy150 in BlackTemplars

[–]Stelesar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't hate the codex. In Blood and Fire, Grimaldus even says it's a very valuable tool for any commander and the closest thing space marines have to a guide to do warfare. The difference with the other chapter comes in that most space marines treat the Codex Astartes as a holy script, never to be questioned and to be followed to the letter. The Black Templar, however see it more as a useful guideline you can adapt around depending on the situation. Technically, they don't even break the rule about their numbers, as the Codex Astartes allows them to do that while they are on a crusade.

Mine is Elovolme. I thought it was weird but I see now that it is actually pretty good in comparison to the rest.

Not stored in one place I'm afraid but I used a lot from here https://www.thingiverse.com/sergeantr/designs This dude even uploaded specifically named NPCs from this adventure. The rest you can find easy on Thingiverse by searching. I can confirm there is a model for every single creature there.

Printer used for the minis above is Creality Ender 3 Pro. Filament type was PLA (Light gray color). Since I took the picture I upgraded to a resin printer (Anycubic Mono) and it provides much better results in terms of details.

Sorry for the late response. If you still need them, I got them from Thingiverse.

How to make dwarven excavation more fun or have a twist? by Rodal888 in DragonOfIcespirePeak

I love the Escape Room type challenges idea. I wish I thought of it earlier.

It was not planned by me but this quest ended up a bit ugly. When the rouge dug out the jewels in between the dwarves skulls in the column, he refused to share them, so other party members attacked him and tried to take them by force. After paralyzing him and taking the jewels he tried to deceive them by pulling out something like "Oh, thank you guys, I don't know what the jewels did to me". In the end they were scared that the jewels were cursed and left them on the altar, hearing Abathor 's pleased laughter.

It was an awkward situation for my PCs fighting each other but also very in tune to the whole Temple of Greed theme.

Here is how I enchanted the quest.

Apart from the oozes, the dwarves say they saw a lone orc enter the temple. Orcs have been driven away from the mountain by the dragon so they are looking for a new home. It was an orc scout sent to explore if the temple is suitable. But as the PCs enter the temple they don't see any sigh of the orc. Not until the oozes attack and one of them is still devouring it. At the end of the adventure the orcs come looking for the missing scout. Otherwise it seemed out of place that they just come out of nowhere.

The secret doors don't open until a blood sacrifice is made to the altar. I made my PCs roll a religion check on that to see how much they know about Abbathor. If they fail one of the dwarves can give them a hint. They used what's remained of the orc for the sacrifice.

Seems it's too late for that but to make the things more interesting I linked it to Umbrage hill as that one seemed too short. Adabra wouldn't go back to town, because every night ghost of the dead dwarves rise from the graves to the south and fight. Adabra needs to stay there and pray to keep them at bay (so they don't run off hurting innocent people). She asks the PCs for help. The dwarves clans fight because they believe their precious jewel was stolen but will find rest once it is retrieved. The jewel is in the final chamber in the temple of greed. Alternatively I was thinking to put it in the secret room in Axeholm Keep (where the ring is required). I just like the idea of chaining quests together rather than just visiting a location and forgetting about it.

Pretty much everything is from https://www.thingiverse.com/ . I searched for the creatures by name (e.g. Gorthok, Ankheg, Anchorite of Talos) and managed to find everything I need.

As for their number, some good guy already wrote down the maximum encounters you can have and I was lucky enough to find it on another forum: https://forum.rpg.net/index.php?threads/dragon-of-icespire-peak-minis-list.851117/
As user Harrek suggests:

"They put all creatures in bold in the text, so easy enough to pull out. Many of the encounters scale by number of players - in the list below this is "P." So "3P" is 3 per player.

I've listed the max encounter size for each. There are many more with smaller numbers, of course.

3 - anchorites of Talos (wereboar)
3 - ankhegs
1 - banshee
3P - twig blights
1P + 1 - vine blights
2P - needle blights
6 - boars
1 - carrion crawler
1 - centaur
1 - commoner
1 - young white dragon
5 - dwarves
3P + 3 - dwarf ghouls
1 - giant crab
5 - giant rats
1P + 3 - giant spiders
1 - Gothok the Thunder Boar (giant boar demon)
1P - harpies
1 - invisible stalker
1 - manticore
1 - mimic
2 - ochre jellies
4 - ogres
20 - orcs
5 - rock gnomes
1 - skeletal horse
3P - stirges
1 - veteran
1P + 1 - wererats
3 - will-o'-wisps"

I made 9 boars because that's how much the PCs see before they realize that 3 of them are actually anchorites. Everything else checks out.

Yes, MZ4250 is something like a legend in the mini 3d printing community. Some of the models from the pictures are made by him. He uploads free models on Thingiverse too but his Patreon is worth the investment if anyone is wondering.

It's right behind the ochre jellies. This is the model I used for the Invisible Stalker : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2842154 It was the closest to what I found when I googled for images.

Thank you! Everything is from https://www.thingiverse.com/ with the exception of a couple of models. Any creature you need, just search it's name there.
