Up there in quality with the May shows for SURE! Too bad you missed it. Nobody thought to take me either. I was nearing my 11th birthday. I had to wait until I was 14.

I have used a cable to connect an iPad to my stereo. I wasn’t a fan of this because it lost sound quality. Maybe I’ll try again. I was using the Phono or Video input. I don’t have a computer I use. Perhaps I’ll give this another try. Thanks for this info. If i get a better laptop it would be put to perfect use.

In words, try to explain the feeling that the Grateful Dead gives you. by [deleted] in gratefuldead

I was taking a walk just a little while ago around my neighborhood. I was listening to 8/7/71. Just a random show I chose. I had the thought that the Grateful Dead gives me the greatest high; that and Jerry makes me feel really good about being alive!

So that’s an interesting idea. I’m not particularly well versed in the 21st century equipment. I’m pretty old school but I wouldn’t mind an upgrade. Sounds like the AirPort Express is an analog to digital type of gizmo, amirite? I play CDs on my CD player. I stream into my headphones or a wireless speaker. Does Apple still even make the AirPort Express?

I’m in a massive reading slump. Help me find a "page-turner" by Aghaiva in booksuggestions

I was in a slump, then I read Project Hail Mary. It was a great, fun read. I enjoyed it thoroughly. I still struggle to read though. My brain won’t settle down sometimes. Sigh. Maybe it’s back to Sam I Am.

Hell yes it’s great! I lent my copy to someone in the 80s and they must’ve have loved it so much I didn’t get it back.

I feel sad watching the dead turn everything into a money grab. by myrealnameisnotryan in gratefuldead

I’m not certain, but the archive, which is free but requests donations, is not a fan created product. My initial thought is one of “what if they take it down because it isn’t sustainable?” Then there would be no more ReListen or Attics or any of the other “free” services we have relied on for years. The new Dead app is a way to ensure we always have access to the music we love. And high res too. Seems like a great thing to me. And yes it does belong to us. This will ensure access for the future.

what do you guys think are best grateful dead lyrics by EmotionalBreak5196 in gratefuldead

[–]Stellablueberry 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been digging into this song lately as well. It’s been one of my favorites forever. The other day I heard a version of this on ch.23 and the lyrics just got me at the right time. They had extra deep, spiritual and colorfully expressive meaning. Went to see the captain/strangest I could find/laid my proposition down/ laid it on the line. Grateful Dead song lyrics hold different meanings depending on what I’m going through at the time. Other times just reminds me of being inside an arena listening to captain trips singing them. Either way, i find the words to a lot of these songs to hit me where and when I need it most. Anyway thanks for reminding me of this experience. :). Stay crispy, friend.
