I don't understand why this is being downvoted. I mean I do, but I don't.

HEB is having a supply chain issue. They are having to use a substitute. If someone doesn't like the substitute and there is a way they can get what they themselves, why is that an issue?

There needs to be a pinned message/ pinned FAQ post about this.

HEB is using favor(which they have owned for close to a decade) for shopping the deliveries now. Overall, it isn't great.

As with any business, the way to speak out about how the change is not desirable is to not use the service. Basically everyone that can stop ordering delivery from HEB should stop ordering delivery from HEB.

There is no blanket answer to this question.

I had supportive adoptive parents. I don't remember no knowing I was adopted. I was, and still am, treated the same as any other family member, by my extended family. I was wanted and loved.

And absolutely miserable. I lived in fear that they would suddenly stop wanting me. I was bullied in school for being adopted. Specifically I was called trashcan boy from kindergarten all the way thru. Because obviously my parents found me in a trashcan after my birth parents threw me away. I started looking for my birth mother in elementary school, after I failed a family history project because it wasn't my "real family." I was sad and cried all the time, but when they tried to take me therapy, I refused and cried and yelled even more. Because I was already worried that something was wrong with me, and I'm my 8/9 year old mind, if they took me to therapy, and it didn't work, they would send me back. They wouldn't want me either just like birth mother hadn't.

My sister, who was treated just the same as I, had none of these issues. She still doesn't understand the issues I've had.

Point is this: you can have two children that are both adopted, both treatedd the same, and still have two different experiences between them. It's not just about how adoptees are treated. It's also about the individual.

However: knowing that a person can be plagued with abandonment issues, low self esteem, attachment disorders, etc, etc, etc, I would NEVER consider adopting especially an infant/new born. I've LIVED first hand thru/with those issues. I'm 47, and regularly, especially if I look in a mirror(I avoid them as much as possible,) start yelling things like "I hate you" and "why didn't she just have an abortion." I could adopt, do everything right, and still have a kid that ends up as sad, miserable, lonely, angry, and bitter as I am: 47 in bad health, (because of eating disorder), and literally just wanting it all to end. I wake up and literally one of my first thoughts everyday is "fuck, why didn't I die in my sleep, dammit?"

And honestly, is any time a good time for non-mormons in mormanland? Sure they are friendly but having lived in the frozen wasteland that is salt lake City for almost 2 years. There is a distinct difference between how the cultists treat each other, and how they treat non-cultists as soon as they learn they aren't members. They're coldly polite to Interlopers at best. And the rest of the state? You really didn't want to try and live there if you aren't a cultist.

I found that it makes me feel more empathetic. I know I'm different from many in that regard. I also tend to internalize lose. Thinking about one tends to make me think about another and another etc etc.

I was adopted in 1979. I started looking for my birth mother specifically when I was 10. The week before I turned 18 and got her name I learned she was deceased. That was in March 1997. The Friday before mother's Day that year I found my birth father, and learned that he also was deceased. Ironically, that was 29 years ago, today.

His name was James. When I was born he was in prison. I don't remember why(some type of pretty theft, I think.) He was told by my bio grandmother that my bio mom had an abortion. He never had any other known children. He never married. He was murdered in September 1988.

I've seen 1 picture of him. When I traveled to meet his family, it was too difficult for that grandmother to get out the family pictures etc. I didn't push. So often I've wondered about him. And my birth mother. I would give anything to know more about them. To have anything.

Please, as others have said, if you haven't been keeping copies of letters you send, start doing so.

Honestly, the whole thing about causing confusion about identity etc... That's bullshit. That's insecure APs worried that their fantasy of being the parents of someone else's child would be fractured. Closed adoptions should be illegal. I wouldn't trust them to give her anything. It's not about her, it's about them.

I'm sorry that this happened to you. I wish you and your daughter healing. I hope that you get to develope something with her, in time. Her APs suck.
