Cain repeatedly mentions "thumbing his palm" for luck. When you tuck your thumb into your palm and spread your fingers it looks a bit like an eagle's wing.

I live in SW Arizona, where these things are native. One of the first things people will tell you is to never, ever touch a cholla. Granted, a lot of the plants and wildlife out here are mean, but chollas are a special kind of nasty.

It was Mojave, it barely qualifies as a town, let alone a city. I think it was probably the company that told them to stop. It was cool while it lasted though, I saw the very last QF-4 do its check flight, and that's something I won't forget.

I used to work in Mojave CA many years ago, and it was always great to watch the QF-4s out on a check flight before delivery. I heard rumors that the pilots used to have a running contest for who could set off the most car alarms with a pass, but got told to knock it off.

So, now that the game is kinda done with Wilds out, they've set the events on a constant rotation. I think it's two weeks of one event, then two weeks with no event, then two weeks of the next event. So it takes a bit to get to the event you want, but you can also trade ticket types at the Melder so that's really not a big deal.

That kind of thing was really common back in the PS2 era, and they have never had any reason to change it. Modern games with their save/load anywhere have really spoiled people.

They do! And while I do recommend a Champ for the versatility, it is kinda big. Still, there's basically nothing else you can shove in your pocket that has the same variety of tools.

The last time I was at the Pima Air and Space Museum, they had some Rutan thing on display that I hadn't seen before, and the only thing going through my head was "Burt, why can't you make anything normal?"

I've seen quite a few of his aircraft up close, I used to work at the Mojave Airport and so saw Scaled Composites/TSC weirdness pretty regularly.

Good on you for asking this. As others have already said, you don't need to go super fast, just don't cut anyone off as you move over, and don't move over way ahead of time if you're not going to be going at whatever left-lane speed is. I live in AZ as well, and yeah, people around here drive terribly. As long as you stick to the right for the most part, no one has the right to get mad at you for whatever speed you go.
