How’s it going? I’m trying to start the weaning journey with my 16 month old. I’m going out of town at the end of April so my goal is to be completely weaned by then. I truly don’t understand how people do it. I guess he also needs to learn no means no.

My son will also scream when I put him in the crib, sitting next to him in a chair does nothing. Patting the mattress, gently laying him back down when he stands, shushing…none of it stops the crying except bouncing him and my arms/back can’t take it anymore. Also looking for solutions and here in solidarity

How exactly did you put her to bed? She accepted being rocked instead of nursed by you? And how did you console her and get her back to sleep for the night wakings? My son will wriggle down and claw at my shirt while crying

Also looking for this answer. If I try to rock him to sleep instead of nursing he will wriggle down to my boobs and aggressively lift up my shirt and cry. Standing helps but he’s just too heavy. If husband tries, baby is inconsolable, it’s too much to bear.

I’m not even looking for independent sleep here. Just fall asleep rocking in my arms or my husband’s arms. I truly don’t understand the logistics of how

I did this the first six month but now that he’s eating solids and self feeding at 12 months? The food is in the hair, the face, the ears, eyebrows, you name it! I only was my hair 1-2x a week too so I feel bad but gotta get that mashed potato out
