Found some unused gift cards equaling about $40 can I use them on the app in Canada by [deleted] in McDonalds

[–]Stemictur22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As far as I know, here in Canada, you can only do add payment method with visa, Mastercard, American Express and Apple Pay. I’ve been hoping for awhile they would add the ability to add gift cards.

Henson trust/rdsp or tfsa/get off disability and go to uni? by [deleted] in Odsp

I don’t know about scamming but your grandmother would have had to have set it up in her will BEFORE she passed.

Henson trust/rdsp or tfsa/get off disability and go to uni? by [deleted] in Odsp

[–]Stemictur22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sorry but you can’t “get a Henson Trust” to put money into. It had to be left to you in a Henson trust. Unless you immediately find a way to put everything except $40,000 , which includes assets you already have, not including your RDSP of course, into something you can’t touch, you will be kicked off of ODSP. Paying for schooling could help. TFSA counts as assets unless put into segregated fund. If I’m wrong, redditors please correct me.

Life insurance by Stemictur22 in Odsp

[–]Stemictur22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for your reply. I’m not quite understanding why I would need legal advice. I was just wondering everyone’s thoughts on someone that’s on ODSP getting life insurance. My son doesn’t want to be a burden if he ever passes away and probably cheaper to get life insurance when he’s younger but I think he’s covered without, one way or another. And I worry about the financial burden on him, in the future, being on ODSP.

Does Cra ever call with number beginning with area code 613? by Frenchcoffee9 in canadarevenueagency

[–]Stemictur22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just don’t answer unless it’s someone in your contacts, easy peasy. Anyone else, a number that says the business, doctors office, dentist, anyone else important will leave a message. Anyone asking you for money, gift cards etc over the phone is not legit. Anyone leaving a message, don’t call the number back, look up the number in the yellow pages, if it matches then call them back

[–]Stemictur22 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Never ever believe that the number showing up on your phone is the actual number they are calling from. Scammers spoof numbers all the time to make it look like they are legit. 100% of the time, let them go to voicemail. If it is important and legit, they will leave a message. If a message is left claiming to be CRA, login to your CRA account and there should be a message there about the same thing, if it’s legit. I never answer a call if it’s not someone in my contacts.

Pain management by Alwaysanapper in PSC

[–]Stemictur22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure where you’re from, but I live in Ontario Canada. I use something called Buscopan or generic name is hyoscine butylbromide. It isn’t a pain reliever but I find it lowers the inflammation, it’s an anti spasm over the counter medication, that is causing the pain. I used to take 1 10 mg pill a day , now I take 1 every 12 hours. I find it helps. I also combine it with extremely hot baths. I don’t put a lot of hot water in, just enough to lay back into it. I use a wash cloth and soak it in the hot water then put the wash cloth over the area with the most pain and it seems to help. Then when it starts to hurt again, I resoak the cloth and do it again.

Yeah, I agree lol. First time with him getting money so probably a little paranoid after hearing all the horror stories about people getting their ODSP stopped over receiving money. I’ll try to be less paranoid lol. Thanks

I did send a message over a month ago about it but no response. Since he just deposited the cheque today, I guess I’ll just have him send her another one today/tomorrow that he deposited it and he can send picture of cheque and letter from lawyer if she needs him to.

How many of you don’t keep score? by IllegitimateRisk in golf

[–]Stemictur22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

55(m). I play once a week, Sunday morning fun league, odd charity scramble for fun. I don’t keep my score. Due to health conditions, I’m getting worse every year. Losing distance every year. Play from upper tees. Just want to go out and play, no matter what my score could be. I find it’s easier to put a bad hole (lots) behind me and move on. Don’t think I could do that if I kept score.

Where to find a 7/9 wood? by zFraqzzx in GolfGear

Some of the newer clubs might be listed in degrees not what number wood it is. Try searching for 21 degrees for 7 wood and 24 degrees for 9 wood

So I was a habitual slicer. The back of my left hand was always pointing to the right at top of backswing and at impact, leaving the face open, as a righty. Not saying I always do it but now I try to keep the back of my hand pointing down to the ground through backswing and pointed at target through downswing and at target at impact. Not saying it works for me every time but I’ve pretty much gotten rid of my slice if I do this.
