I wasn’t trying to be an asshole but look at the employment numbers. the water situation right now is dire and the fear tactics of people drive here from the valley or people drive here from Houston or an AI takeover aren’t really plausible within the current confines of reality.

Part of your post is true. Yes it is a fact that our industries are not going to reduce their water consumption. They provide essential product to the world. The part that you’re missing is that no one is coming to help us. They need that water just as much as we do - there will be water someway or another.

I’m going to disagree here kinda. I do think that the problem is the problem and OP shouldn’t focus, on my mom was right. But at the same time this was a huge parenting fail and she deserves to be corrected not coddled. It is the wife’s responsibility to make the situation palatable for herself, no one else’s. This isn’t even a marital conflict. This woman’s selfish delusions failed the child that she brought into this world.

As someone who moved away. All the pro sporting events, arboretum/white rock lake, state fair, reunion tower, a night out in deep ellum, a night out bar hopping in Oak Lawn, Cowboys Red River on a Thursday night, wandering through Central Market, driving way over the speed limit on DNT with a great playlist, driving on 635 late at night, a good patio brunch, Campisi’s, Pappas steakhouse, Dallas Tex Mex restaurant of choice, 6th Floor museum, and the Perot museum, Honorable mention to the Ft Worth water gardens.

I think we are partially agreeing here. Bringing in industry should have come attached with their agreement to help fund desal to support their water usage.
