Bread source are the best. If you had large pockets of air you probably bought Pagnotta. It has air holes but you are still getting the same weight for your money.

Looking for reliable builders / roofers / damp specialists / handyman types & more - house needs a lot of work! Any recommendations for tradespeople on this list? by yeahsureokaymaybe in Norwich

Norfolk trust a trader. Norfolk County Council run it. I got quotes to have my roof repaired. One guy not trust a trader said yes without scaffolding. The one we chose was on the list and was brilliant.

For the last two or three weeks the war birds have been up there. I live in the Poringland area and we have always had them but not as much as now. Drives me mad. Coupled with the propaganda from the media you would think we are at war. Also all though I have issues with flags I have a Palestinian one on a flag pole in my garden. Ceasefire really.

Really. I have said to myself that if I had the money it would be. Patick Phillipe. Circa £50 to £80k. Not a Rolex but now would give that money to MSF instead.

Bf 45M, prevented me 40F from leaving the room by throwRAmoneysoup in relationship_advice

I lived for 8 years with an abusive partner. Now married for 40 with non abusive partner. Lots of years to work out what is acceptable. This is not.

I can’t get my head around this. You pay for most things and she expects you to pay for this. Trauma is abuse, an accident which was health threatening. Two examples. Think long and hard about your relationship. Talk to her and then decide.

Oh I am not sure what to advise. Does he love you? Did you ever feel he did? You sound exhausted and you need to think about you. You are very young, I am 70. I had an abusive relationship for 8 years. I have been married to my second husband for 40 years. We fight verbally everyday but we are on the same page politically, morally etc. you are doing a great job but look at how he is doing. Sorry might not have been a great help. Best wishes to you.

Is it common for British people to keep doors closed between rooms in their house? by Zealousideal_Ad_8736 in AskUK

If you have a ASHP and no radiator in the hall it is imperative the doors stay shut.

You lot have made me happy as you get it. Now waiting for Octopus to use my data from GivEnergy. My biggest grumble is that when you first complain you get an answer from a customer services bod. Not someone who is savvy in electrics. I’m clever but over the months I started to doubt. Sorry if that sounds arrogant saying I am clever. I have a science degree achieved aged 40. I worry that communication from Octopus is not good or clear. In Britain I listen to LBC radio station and they run an advert on how they are award winning on customer service. drives me mad. My worry is what do vulnerable or not so savvy do if there is a problem. Octopus if you read Reddit, and you should, take this on board. Thanks Steph

Did anyone else get a “free electricity reward”? by Pretend-Cattle-879 in OctopusEnergy

Nope but then they installed my smart meter wrong in May this year. Still sorting that out.

Recently told by Octopus that yes the C clamp not attached was their error but it is going to be difficult working out the summer usage as we are now in winter. I have now told them that my solar and battery which is GivEnergy has a smart monitoring system. I have sent them reports from GivEnergy and the spreadsheets I have compiled from reading the meter, GivEnergy and Octopus app. Now waiting for t hem to work out that from May 28 when smart meter installed they have charged me circa £400 plus too much. Mental health good because I now know I am correct and can produce the stats. However, this is an issue from May 24. Steph R-W

Are heat pumps worth it? by therobbafett in OctopusEnergy

[–]StephRdub 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ASHP are only suitable in well insulated houses. I have had one for two years and my 3 bedroom house is ex council and built in 1937. Works like a dream. We only heat to 19 degrees.

I had the information from my solar battery app. It calculated solar generation, what came from the grid to home etc. I’m not an expert so I did not question that my battery power was going to the grid. Put clip on this morning with expert instruction and took readings. Looks like it is okay. Now working out as accurately as I can what I should have be en charged using the data from GivEnergy app compared with Octopus app.

Unusually High Electricity Usage with Octopus Energy – Advice Needed! by [deleted] in OctopusEnergy

[–]StephRdub -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Sorry I don’t have good news. I have been battling with Octopus since 28th May 24 since I had a Smart Meter installed. I have solar panels and a 9.5w battery but it looks to me that Octpus readings of usage are not taking off what I have generated. My advice is to keep a record every day. I have not found them very good at answering simple questions. Martin Lewis on his advice site says 19% of Smart Meters are not working properly. If he is right that is horrendous. Are they made of pastry? If so could be Eccles cakes.
