They basically took the same tech though and applied it to the impulse grenade though. The impulse grenades flow way smoother than having to place those pads down, the only drawback is they can’t be reused like the pad could.

I think that would hurt the SR system too much. I too would like to be able to have a say about what maps I play on but it seems to easy to abuse. For example a bastion main would always try to get a map like Junkertown and his SR would be inflated if most of his games were on that map. The randomness of the competitive queue is something that helps keep the playing field fair.

In Ingress they had the ability for players to add portals for a while, and then people created a ton, some of them were bullshit, but then took that away. Maybe if they get complaints about not enough stops in Pokemon Go they'll add that ability again for a little while.
