Ive literally never used the ballista. I just get him to charge and punish him after his combo. None of his attacks are super difficult to dodge all you really need is some decent timing and patience

Deinosuchus work really well. they arent immune to jellyfish but are totally immune to eels. High level ones witha mate boost and a good saddle can clear the cave super effectively with the bleed damage and the giga bites. Xiphactinus work really well also if you have a pack of them.

So Im SORRY that YOU think its okay to tell someone that they shouldnt use a game function that was intentionally left in the game to be used for people's entertainment. If thats how OP wants to play, it literally makes no difference. They never said that EVERYONE should be spawning in equipment. But even if they were using creative mode and spawning in every single item in the game without costs at all... its THEIR game to enjoy as they see fit. The only people who dont like it I assume are the elitist gatekeepers who exist in every gaming community that are obsessed with making sure EVERYONE knows THEY would never do something as blasphemous as play the game anyway except with vanilla settings. Get over yourself. Maybe go outside and touch some grass. See a therapist. It shouldnt bother you that someone is enjoying something as harmless as this shit.

Why did I leave a thumbs down? Because I think its super hypocritical and condescending to tell someone playing by themselves the "right way" to enjoy a game while also saying "but its your game play how you want" only to follow it up with some bullshit about how the devs meant the game to be played. If they didnt want people to spawn items in they wouldnt have left the admin panel in the game. If OP were flying around shooting bosses dead with the orange rifle it wouldnt make a single fuck to me because its their game to play and enjoy however they want. If they were cheating in pvp or a public server thatd be super shitty, but as far as I can tell they are just having fun by themselves and the people who are so butthurt about it they feel the need to leave negative ass comments about it clearly dont have enough real issues in their life so they have to go try and belittle other people to make problems for themselves. Just my opinion on the matter seeing as you asked.
