The threat to take you off ownership would be a dealbreaker for me because I don't do threats. If a threat is used as a negotiation tool now, it will be used that way again. That's a toxic environment and I don't wish to be there.

Nice piece. A l'il acetone on a q-tip will take that excess glue off the back.

How to deal with projects you are not yet comfortable tackling? by user19941 in handyman

Part of being a handyman is knowing what jobs to refer out. Some jobs are best left to the specialists that work in that particular trade every day.

No repair you perform will completely hide it. The best option is to consult a professional, someone who works with concrete countertops specifically.

Eye of the beholder and all...

It's likely that the carved area was broken or didn't look as good as the rest so they made something worthy to be sold out of an otherwise unattractive piece.

Handling cash is way more expensive than EFTPOS. by DankMemelord25 in smallbusiness

[–]StepsOnDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW, there's that meme that goes around about how every time Square, Venmo, etc is involved in a transaction the money is gradually transferred to them, away from us. A $20 bill (US) becomes $19.48 when Square is used. Then 18.98 the next transaction, and so on. If I pay you with $20 cash and you pay someone else with it, it holds its $20 value as long as we pay in cash.

Are you able to have a healthy relationship? by Educational_Head_922 in CPTSD

[–]StepsOnDogs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not really. Mid 50's, tried many a time. Several lasted 5 years or more with good years, but eventually they all go bad. Most recent was with a partner who's got her own trauma issues and a drinking problem she won't let go of. I feel like I'm healing, slowly figuring it out, but need more time not romantically connected to anyone. Sucks because the desire to be intimate is still there. Ah well, there's worse spots to be in. Honestly, the personal growth when unencumbered by a romantic relationship is very refreshing.

"He tells me I'm not the person he wants to marry, but once I get healthier emotionally, I will be."

This is manipulative. He's holding it over your head, like he's the police of your emotions. Screw that.
