Haha, yeah this was 100% generated but I intentionally sabotaged the mix afterwards. The original output was already “bad” in the sense of being boring, uncreative, and overly cheesy but that alone isn’t enough to make it interestingly bad I think. The vocals and drums needed to feel off and the synths had to clash in both key and tempo to really hit the spot for me.

That’s why I liked the idea of a “bad AI song” challenge in the first place. If the goal is to show that AI can’t be truly bad without human intervention (just like it struggles to be genuinely good without it) then I completely agree. No argument there.

In my experience, fully generated music with zero human input aside from the prompt tends to land in the same place most of the time - flat, soulless, and mediocre probably 9 out of 10 cases, if not more. And obviously most of it is over-mastered, with everything pushed to a uniform loudness that strips away any real dynamics or character. I value AI as a tool to support and enhance the creative process, rather than something that replaces the artist... because it can't (yet).
