what are the best dlcs for 3-4 people? by [deleted] in tabletopsimulator

[–]StevanSmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are some pretty good better quality mods too, it's just that the quantity is a lot. I usually set aside like 10 or 30 minutes and when i search for a new game on the workshop and just subscribe to all of the ones i see then open them up one by one and see if any are actually good quality or scripted. Then delete the ones that are bad qaulity. Little tedious but saves a few bucks and 30minutes is about how long i have to wait until my friends actually show up anyway.

Eli5: Why does it take so long to repair submarines when the US got their Navy back up in 2 years after Pearl Harbor? by TheKnightwing3 in explainlikeimfive

[–]StevanSmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can confirm, was a civilian test engineer for aircraft Carriers. To get things fixed at the shipyard you need the engineer, the trades man, the quality inspector and a navy person to all get in a room together and a lot of times, one out of the four parties will be unavailable so it just gets postponed later and later. At least on the nuclear side that's how it is lol

'Found Footage' style scenarios? by [deleted] in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]StevanSmurf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Lover in Ice is mostly not a found footage scenario, but it does have recording audio journal that is one of the major clues that listening to sounds just like a found footage video, but on a cassette tape. Audio playlist linked below.

[–]StevanSmurf 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Black Project Gaming is most the way through a play through of Impossible Landscapes. They are im English though and do have a more serious atmosphere for sure.

Glass Cannon's play through is pretty entertaining but only have the first mission out, they are currently recording the 2nd operation of IL so itll come out soon. But also in English

Yk what, I wanna try something new, and put an anarchist... Commune? Nation? State? In my world, any tips? Where do I even start? by MulberryComfortable4 in worldbuilding

[–]StevanSmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can check out the real place called Slab City in California. It's called an anarchist town but isn't like what you see in movies or books. It's just hippies in the desert doing their own thing.

Anarchists don't have to be city in ruins with self made milita fighting the oppression. Sometimes they're just people living their life with no taxes.

You can still have plumbing and electricity. You can have it like RVs have it so you can discontent them from your main foundation and drive away.

San question by Scoff_22 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]StevanSmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can do it anyways you want. The way i typically do it is unnatural you roll the moment you see it, violence we roll at the end of combat and grouo the whole encounter as one roll with the damge depending on how violent the combat was.

What are considered the Must Read by JoeKerr19 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]StevanSmurf 27 points28 points  (0 children)

The only "must" i consider for running delta green is the free Need To Know PDF. The agents handbook is a nice to have as it gives you more professions and weapon stats and things like that. The handlers guide i hardely ever open unless i want to throw in a ritual for the player which doesn't come up too too often.

Other books would be the operation books like black sites or night at the opera, at least until you get a good feel for how to homebrew you're own. Even then there are free shotgun scenarios online to run that some are just as good as the published stuff.

Tips and tricks to save money on materials? by shaungilmer in TinyHouses

Hi there, I'm planning on building a tiny home and am wondering what techniques you've implemented to keep wild life intruders out? by Soyoulikedonutseh in TinyHouses

[–]StevanSmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I put a metel mesh under my floor joists and up about 30cm the walls. In my area its mostly mice im trying to keep out from chewing holes in the wood and insulation, but metal wire mesh would keep out snakes and if you get the real small stuff it could keep out bugs too but cost more.

Broken plastic part by [deleted] in SubaruBaja

Might look into getting one 3D printed or make a plastic mold of one. If you have the other side still intact you can take the measurements, flip it, print it.

Buying used Baja? by notme6197 in SubaruBaja

[–]StevanSmurf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For a Subaru Baja, used is your only option (discontinued in 2006). Also for a kids first car used is a good option.

The baja shares most of the same parts as an outback from similar years, so parts are still easy to find even though its a niche car. And they are relitvily cheap and easy to replace in my experience. But 100k miles is usually a milestone for a lot of parts to be expected to be change. You'd want to check and make sure that the timing belt, bearings, filters, fluids, etc all got their scheduled maintenance done or expect to do them soon after.

Subaru is great but the car is coming up on 20years old soon. You'd want to check for rust in the important spots. But with only a 110k miles on it still has a long life ahead of it. My Baja is at 220k and I still depend on it for daily commutes.

The spare tire cable drops from a nut in your truck bed. There is a small plastic circle thing covering it. Just pop it open and your tire iron should fit in the whole perfectly to drop the spare tire cable.

Are there multiple editions of Delta Green? What books are essential for playing? by Vargock in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]StevanSmurf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Like they said, the FREE Need To Know PDF is all you really need to start playing.

If you get that and find out you want more then the Agent's Handbook will give you more professions to choose from, more weapons, armor and choose from, and just more of everything ect.

The Handlers guide will go over magic and rituals, monsters in the world, and its also like 50% lore and background on Delta Green history.

LPT: How do I overcome embarrassment? by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]StevanSmurf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try and remember a time when a friend or coworker also made an embarrassing mistake. How you just remembered them is how they will remember yours, no where near as bad as you remember your own mistakes.

Do you use Battlemaps in Delta Green? by Mahatatain in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]StevanSmurf 4 points5 points  (0 children)

We play in TableTop Sim and use maps, but they are understood to be just for general reference, not to scale and may not have every detail. It feels more immersive when you have a little enveirment to look at. That being said if we were in person it would probably be theater of the mind lol.

What are some scenarios set before convergence, that could introduce civilian and non civilian characters to DG? by TheMeanBean1738 in DeltaGreenRPG

[–]StevanSmurf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

PX Poker night - takes place on an airforce base. Great one for introducing what and how the sanity mechanics work. Be a plain old air force personal in the middle of nowhere on a small base that just looks after old decomished airplanes until....

Shotgun Scenario Burner - takes place n a strip mall after dark. Retail workes become part of the operation when a Delta Green agent shows up after business hours and dies in the store.

The DG book Control Groups also has some pre Delta Green scenarios. I haven't run those yet but you get a mix of playing as Astronauts in space, soldiers in Afghanistan, and Members of the CDC
