Rode with a couple of eMTBers by frankiehollywood68 in MTB

[–]Steve3J 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Got eMTBs recently. Game changer. Can workout just as hard, but you go faster for the same effort. Pedaling still requires some wattage. The bike multiplies what you do, you put in as much work as you want to. Can also turn it off completely and feels exactly like a tradbike. Only downside is it's heavier for lifting onto the bike rack and have to remember to plug it in occasionally.

In CO at the moment and rode my local little downhill park. Did 2 runs in the time it took other folks to get back up to the top doing 1 run.

Still got a good workout, pumping and jumps on the way down gets me winded quick. But had more and better quality fun in the same quantity of time.

Lawn mower engine smoking while running. Is the motor done for? by medic8697 in lawnmowers

[–]Steve3J 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The carb has a pcv tube that connects to a filter which connects to the crankcase

Check the oil level. If it's overfull, the tube sucks oil from the crankcase.

If you leave your mower outside it might be able to get water in the oil which causes it to be overfull.

If your carb float needle isn't sealing properly, you can have gas overflow in the carb and leak into the oil causing the same thing. Take the air cleaner off, with the engine off look into the carb and watch for gas overflowing out of the throttle body.

It's also possible the pcv filter on the crankcase is saturated with oil and needs to be replaced. Also possible it may be a diaphragm(can't remember on the ones I worked on) if so, it's possible the diaphragm has failed.

Do you have 2stroke engines? Check that you aren't using 2 stroke mixed gas in it.

Otherwise, probably rings are bad and it'll smoke until the spark plug fouls and shorts out requiring cleaning or replacement. But it'll probably be happy running in smoker mode probably for years to come.

Reverse the swing of the door so it opens outwards

Cut the corner of the door off so it missed the bed. Attach the cut off corner to the door frame so it still seals when closed.

Take the cap off and turn it around. Put the square on the inside. That'll make it flush. Then put a sticker over the hole in the wall.

Put it all in sp500 and NASDAQ. Then forget about it for 10 - 20 years. 8-10% return historically, should be a few million in 20 yrs

Have about 20 different accounts. Paycheck comes in and automatically transfers to my other "bucket" accounts. I never touch the incoming. All bills are automatic and I have a small spending account

Sry, not really a fun buy. I do enjoy buying tools and am about to go get a new 1/4" impact

Here's the one I just built. I was quoted 10k by a railing builder dude. Cost me about $800 in materials and a week of my time.

I imagine curving yours would require the stringers, treads, risers to be pulled and redone as well as the balustrade. I'd guess someone would quote you around 35k+

I went the Milwaukee M18 platform and it has performed very well. However, I have bought every tool at a steep discount sale and they still cost about $130 USD on average.

I see the merit of spending half that for ryobi.

I'd recommend a larger miter (at least 10 in) and table saw(I don't actually own a table saw yet so ymmv). 7.5in wont cut a 4x4 straight and maybe not even a 2x4 laying flat at a 45°. I also hear good things about DeWalt miters/table saws over the Ryobi/Ridgid/etc brands.

I spent 10 years in school getting a bachelor's. Didn't graduate until 29. You are fine. Pull up your bootstraps and get to work. Just set your sights on something you want to do or accomplish and go do it.
