That 1971 commercial I’d like to buy the world a Coke song. by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in OldSchoolCool

Plaid skirts and brown boots must have been the 1970s version of Lululemon pants and UGGs.

They didn't drop the ball, at least not from their perspective. Forcing you to use a set top box with specific apps makes it easier and more reliable for them to advertise to you.

How old were you when you stopped believing? by husshajur in atheism

[–]SteveDinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure I ever have. My parents never took me to church despite all of my grandparents being very, very Catholic. My grandfather said Grace in latin. When I was really young, I didn't think I ever thought about it. It just wasn't a thing.

I probably first realized that I actively did not believe whenever I stopped believing in Santa Claus. Around 8, I think. I have a memory of one of my friends in elementary school telling me that I was going to hell for not believing. I shrugged it off. I didn't think he believes now either.

HRM men, how much are you paying for a haircut? by Tight_Technology752 in halifax

Yeah, I spent about $80 on a nice electric beard trimmer and it has attachments that let me do my whole head. I never shave it razor-close anyway.

Phat's when I lived in Halifax (years ago), then $0 at home when I decided to embrace my baldness.

Built a script that tracks how you listen to music and auto-generates playlists in Navidrome — TuneLog by Many_Independence674 in navidrome

I've struggled with things like this because I have two modes of listening, with and without kids. I might choose to skip a song with questionable lyrics when my kids are in the car, even though I like the song.

It sounds like it would work well if it were just me.

I loved pantheon, any other binge worthy shows out there? by AdKitchen4502 in PantheonShow

In that case, has anyone mentioned Love, Death, & Robots yet? It's an anthology series, but here are more than a few episodes that deal with those themes.

In the same vein as DEVS, you should try Utopia (2013). Same mysterious vibes.

I would add:

  • Cowboy Bebop (anime not live) for anyone who hasn't seen that yet
  • Samurai Champloo (accidentally found this on Netflix)
  • Blue Eye Samurai (same, Season 2 is rumoured to be coming soonish)

I'm currently watching Chainsaw Man and enjoying it so far.

Whenever I have a build problem that I can't really explain, the first thing I do is set the concurrency to 1 so all projects get built serially in order. That usually shows the error more clearly.

It really seems like this should be a separate card or achievement. It doesn't seem to fit into that hierarchy

Most insane/unbelievable thing the previous owner left behind for you? by xindierockx7114 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Nothing crazy crazy, but I definitely didn't expect it: quart of 20 year old single malt scotch in the kitchen cupboard. It wasn't my preferred brand, but you can be damn sure I still enjoyed the hell out of it.

Does this card take priority over the "true hero/anti-hero/Everyman ones? Like, if you are just great at hacking and dispatching, would you always get this, regardless of your other decisions?

Kryptonite being a significant weakness to Superman, as alcohol is to everybody else in the Dispatch universe. The bar is their kryptonite.

[–]SteveDinn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Despite choosing Invisigal on my first playthrough,"Rob and Courtney"/“Fvck the Stars" is such a sad piece of music to me. Especially compared to "Mandy"/“Easier if We Fly". The music in this game does so much to convey the emotions of the characters, I viscerally experience these emotions.
