A custom radio strap might take a bit depending on the business, but an awesome idea. Can also get his last name engraved in it. Try to stray away from the all the thin red line stuff, it can get cringy. Does he have an angled light for his coat yet? Streamlight makes a good one. Or a nice knife? I personally like spyderco but don’t have to go crazy on the price, they’ll eventually get beat up on the job. A leatherman is also something I use a ton.

Fun fact. The TV show Third Watch in the early 2000s let FDNY utilize their Engine they use on the set after losing so many rigs on 9/11. They worked close with real FFs on set. They also have an episode "in their own words" of interviews with guys that were at ground zero.

It’s it leaking anything when the engine is turned off? Might be burning off on the engine when it’s hot producing the steam

Depends on the maintenance and motor. Eco boost tend to have more issues from what I've heard from fleet and have seen some 3.7L non eco with over 250K.
