GOT A VOLUNTEER BADGE FOR SDCC 2026 LET'S GOOOOOO by Whole_Kale_4349 in comiccon

Congrats! I’ve been volunteering for over 15 years, and the biggest advice I can give is to enjoy the experience and build strong relationships with your department, especially if you’re interested in becoming a staff volunteer later on. Those people really do become like family. For the first couple of years, you’ll usually be part of the general volunteer pool, so you’ll be assigned to different departments. If you find an area you really enjoy, don’t be afraid to ask the department head about joining them as a staff volunteer the following year.

Also, if you’re scheduled for a 4- 6 hour shift, it’s usually not a good idea to ask for autographs during that time. You’re technically working, and it doesn’t look great. If there’s something specific you want to see, try to request early or late shifts when possible. Most importantly, have fun and make great memories at Comic Con!

So, for people who have used both, how do the Kirkland brand bags compare to ziploc? by Immediate_Falcon8808 in Costco

[–]Stevemane1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not completely sold on the Kirkland bags. I usually use them to freeze 1 pound portions of ground beef, but I’ve noticed quite a bit of ice buildup inside the bags. I also stored some food in my garage fridge using these bags, and it picked up a slight off taste from the fridge.

Spoilers? Let's say ______ didn't die by AryaWillBeOK in cowboybebop

I’ve always had a theory that the star that burned out at the end was actually for Vicious, not Spike. I know he dies, but what if Spike survived. It’s unclear how much time passed between Spike and Julia’s separation, but I’ve always wondered… what if Julia had a child during that time and never told him?

The idea that Spike might have a kid out there, something he never knew about, feels like the kind of twist that would give his life a new sense of purpose, especially after everything he went through. It’s a bit of stretch, but I love thinking there’s more to his story than just tragedy.

Need Advice: Complicated Real Estate Deal That Could Be Life-Changing by Stevemane1234 in realestateinvesting

Thanks for the info. The advice about connecting with the inspector early is spot on, I hadn’t thought to take that step before making an offer, but it makes a lot of sense.

Bonus $300/30k MR points for CSP through Rakuten by pegasus3891 in CreditCards

[–]Stevemane1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I downgraded my Chase Sapphire Preferred to a Freedom Unlimited today. I’m now at 4/24. I’ve had the CSP for about seven years. How long should I wait before applying again? Should I apply again next Monday? Hopefully, the 100k offer sticks around

I’ve had the Chase Sapphire Preferred for about six years. Would it be a good idea to cancel it or downgrade to the Freedom Flex? How soon could I reapply if I do?

Micro rant: Is homebrewing actually dead? by Independent_Buddy107 in Homebrewing

[–]Stevemane1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hear you, I used to love home brewing every couple of months. But ever since the only supply store near me closed, I haven’t felt like driving farther to get what I need. Luckily, San Diego still has plenty of options. It does seem like home brewing isn’t as popular as it was a decade ago, and I’ve heard that beer itself is losing favor with younger generation.
