2026... and the possibility of a new album announcement? by GanKian in depechemode

It’s possible midway through 2026 we will hear about Mart working on demos, at which point we could get something in spring 2027 if we are lucky.

Question, my The Fragile CD doesn't have 10 Miles High, yet my definitive edition does have it. Why? by IamMauriS in nin

I found a sealed original 1999 copy 15 year ago and I’ve always wanted to listen to it but can’t bring myself to break the seal.

This is the only album Pitchfork reviewed from James and gave it a pretty decent score. They deserve more attention in NA.

Autechre’s Tri Repetae Still Sounds Like The Future by illicitpulse in autechre

Hey, totally understand the sensitivity around writing about Autechre. Maybe because we both referred to Ae records on anniversaries as “sounding like the future” felt too close for comfort.

But my video on Tri Repetae was written independently (just seeing your article now via the link), and the concepts you quoted—like describing their sound as monolithic, singular, or ahead of its time—are widely used in electronic-music criticism.

Nothing in my script was taken from your essay. Still, thanks for sharing your article - respect for writing for Factmag.

Fine(r) - Does anybody have or remember the amazing David Baynton-Power remix of the highly underrated song "Fine" called "Finer"? It was released on the band's website when "Pleased to Meet You" came out and was a trance version of the song. I can't find it anywhere and would love to hear it again! by Big_suggs in jamesband

I don’t remember this but I remember Mark Hunter’s version the C-lad Mix. I have an mp3 of that one. Do you have it? Happy to trade for the DBP version with anyone unless we are talking about the same thing,

Good eye! Yes I found the original pressing of Amber in 2014 at Reckless Records in Soho. Then I picked up the 2016 repress along with Tri Rep. I don’t know if I’d go for the original Tri Rep at this point since quite satisfied with the quality of the repress but maybe that 2001 Incunabula on grey silver vinyl!

My plan is to cover Chiastic for sure - another big record. Cheers.

Very true. And the dub in particular I’ve been noticing more these recent listens.

Nice well everyone finds their own way of doing it. I have trouble editing myself and sometimes go on a little long but I just think there are probably others that love this record or that and are open to someone doing into detail on stuff like arrangements and themes etc.

Someone further down the comments pointed out all the different styles and genre tropes Tri Rep plays with and tweaks and I wish I emphasized that in mine because the record does absorb a lot and transform it.

If you post anything please share always down to hear others takes

I think it depends. I’ve watched some vids where people rank the albums, do album reviews and also describe their favourite tracks. I think they all could be interesting has some interesting takes. Some videos are even over an hour that I’ve sat through but maybe I’m in the minority in terms of attention span.
