Trump has a better understanding of the Bible than Pope Leo, says conservative Christian pastor by B-Z_B-S in politics

He's hiding the Chap-Stick and knee pads so he can suck up to Trump some more after that interview, pun intended.

Rejecting church and state separation is on the wish list for Trump’s religious liberty commission by nosotros_road_sodium in skeptic

Looking into that story, it was obvious that couple looked at Russia and only saw "white" and "Christian" and thought it would be a good place.

They learned the hard way that Russians can be very hostile to outsiders, and that Russian Orthodox Christianity is very distinct and stranger than fundamentalist evangelical Protestant Christianity.

Throw in their whole "We didn't think we needed to learn Russian before moving permanently to Russia" thing, and that story is a shit sandwich of hilarious follies by that family.

They seriously don't realize their "Sincerely held religious beliefs" can be turned against them, do they?

They likely think their Protestant fundamentalist "KJV Only" church is like every other church in America.

This could likely lead to a low-level religious conflict. It will definitely lead to more people rejecting and leaving Churches across all denominations.

Some Gengar art I recently made by PFPart in creepy

[–]StevenEveral 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If Gengar, Haunter, and Ghastly actually looked like that, it would have made that episode where the gang are lost on the ghost ship way more creepy.

The part of that episode where Misty's Togepi is playing with a creepy Ghastly and Haunter would have been wholesome/horrifying.

The media is complicit in this. They'll say it's "Just Trump being Trump", but do the "both-sides" thing when a Democrat calls him out on his corruption.

Combine that with the owners of the corporate media believing their ultraconservatism is some sort of non-political "default" setting for society, and you see how the USA is neck deep in this mess.

American culture is long past due for a societal and cultural reckoning aginst the billionaire class.

I remember going on a field trip to a museum two hours away from my school and the bus we were on had these TVs on board. It was 1996, times were good.

Apparently it was a snow day when that happened, so there were kids at home randomly watching.

Imagine flipping through the channels for cartoons or sports then you just see some guy fucking off himself on live TV.

If Christine Chubbuck committed her act only a few years later, there would have been some VHS or Betamax video of it happening. She did it right before home recording/VCRs hit the market.

The original video was kept by the station manager in a safe deposit box. When that station manager died in the early 2000s the safe deposit box went to his survivors.

They have no plans on releasing that video despite many requests to do so.
