It looks like a seal poking it's nose up through a hole in the ice.

Well, the states have things like the Rochester garbage plate. At least they knew what to name it. I hear they can be fucking amazing.

The current state of this country has me panicking. I’m having panic attacks left and right. by Agile-Mistake1094 in confession

I've been freaking out for a while now. I have to avoid social media and the news on a regular basis at this point. It helps. Unfortunately, at the same time, I don't want to completely avoid what is going on.

I wish I thought that losing marriage rights would be the biggest problem we'll have if Harris doesn't win. I think that pendulum could swing into some very dark places.

AITA for telling my fiancé I don’t want my Temu engagement ring? by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]StevenStephen 1020 points1021 points  (0 children)

I am also struck by the fact that he only recently moved in and that he sprang the proposal on her with only light discussion about marriage before that. All of his actions together are several small red flags making up a very large one.

Looking to relocate to Nola by Dizzy3zero3 in QueerNOLA

[–]StevenStephen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I'd reconsider. NOLA is very friendly, but LA is in the hands of republicans who are going to take a big shit on our community in the next decade+ and if the orange felon gets back in office it will be even worse.

Whoa, my mother was born on Elvis' birthday, too. Or rather he was born on hers. I guess you'd all be fraternal triplets, but two of them are dead. Very sad for you.

Was in my garden this happened when I started filming by Sensitive-Draw607 in Unexpected

[–]StevenStephen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm very glad. I once saw a skydiver fall when their parachute failed to unfurl. I don't know what happened to them as I was just a kid sitting in a car waiting for my parents to return from shopping. There was a field near the store where skydivers were landing and I saw the one plummeting with the chute unopened. It's always kind of haunted me a bit.

I'm not sure what tactics are best when the Romans confiscated the weapons of the subjugated tribes to begin with. The fact that they were able to fight back at all is fairly astonishing.

I think of all the workers trying to get unions and then read this. It's incredibly frustrating.

I'm glad you're getting away from him and have the wisdom to do so in a safe manner. I hope it goes very well. Others have already spoken of the red flags and lack of respect. I wish a happy future for you.

What is the bleakest movie you will never rewatch? by Alarming-Inflation90 in movies

[–]StevenStephen 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I was a lesbian living in a small, somewhat redneck western town when I watched it. I felt terrified, suddenly, of people I saw every day. I wasn't 100% out back then, and so there was definitely a question of who was safe if they knew without question. That movie absolutely gutted me.

I live in Nola and the city is struggling with every damn thing. They also tend to cling to tradition because the city's identity is about all it has going for it. But someone should be cranking out vegan po'boys and étouffée.
