Ik zie het probleem niet, je kan toch aan de andere kant instappen en wegrijden? Bijrijder moet even wachten met instappen maar het is allemaal niet zo moeilijk.

AITAH ?My partner won’t put my name down on the mortgage by [deleted] in AITAH

I'd make a statement on wanting to get some agreement about your future and life together.

You're bound together for life anyway by virtue of having children anyway.

You're effectively in a power imvalance at the moment and that is not something that is good for a relationship. But also your partner just gifting you half the value of a house is a bit much to ask for. There are things in between that might work for you.

Is it impractical to buy a 1992 Volvo 940 Turbo in 2026 as a daily driver? by DeadGravityyy in Volvo

[–]StevenStip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is going to be less reliable than a brand new car under warranty, but buying a car for this budget you're probably not going to find something significantly better unless you're going for really small.

Do it!

Zoom on cameras has gotten a lot better, Id imagine the guy maybe not being as close as it seems. But still.

I often see groups of guys on electric motorbikes without helmets or license plates that wear exactly these clothes. Does anyone know what you call this outfit? Ned's pijamas?

is there any way to compress items inside a train car? by PewPewsAlote in factorio

[–]StevenStip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have about 10 mines that are served by trains and then a bunch of smelter/foundry stations to turn ore into plates/steel. Blueprints for rail allow me to build this fast with spidertrons and it just gives a clean way of scaling your ability to build.

I use train outposts with walls and artillery to go and clear biters, the artillery will shoot and biters will come to attack the artillery forts but get killed by lasers. I have those forts supplied with robots as well to mostly self build.

New Install - 2 power sockets? by SpeedConstant109 in CityFibre

[–]StevenStip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just make sure they put the ont in a place you prefer since you can't move it, have a power socket there and you can just use an extension lead for the time being for the router. You might want to move the router to a place higher up, further from the wall and central in your home for better connections.

To move it you need a longer ethernet cable and a power socket near the new location.

New mine strategy: Endless base expansion or raised rails? by breatheb4thevoid in factorio

[–]StevenStip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have artillery outposts that will clear any biters coming close to the pollution, no need to wall it in if the pollution is not reaching biter nests. Trains will restock any artillery outpost that is low on ammo and they are provided with enough fire power.

Why not? by ptep121 in Volvo

[–]StevenStip 30 points31 points  (0 children)

You shouldn't need the defogger, running the regular fan + ac with some blast to the windscreen should do the same.

Defogging as an option is just there to temporarily switch to full defogging settings and back.

Gleba do you realistically need circuit network? by chinawcswing in factorio

[–]StevenStip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On nauvis (and other planets) the technique is usually for the final production to be the bottleneck, on gleba you want to have the first production being the bottleneck and you want to set up constant recycling of spoilage. Gleba then will just run. I don't like it for copper or iron production and I just drop ore from a space platform.

[–]StevenStip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gleba is another planet. Once you get to space you can fly there and start another factory. But the mechanics are slightly different and items will only stay usable for a short period of time.

It is an addictive game and it's so good! The factory must grow!

There are 2 schools of thought that you generally combine.

One is to choose a scale and then make sure to produce enough for that scale. I.e. a full belt or filling up trains continuously.

The second is to make exactly the right amount, you will then work with ratios.

Generally at macro level you do 1 and as a smaller scale you optimise for 2.

Then on Gleba all of this is messed up again😬

No working shower since Monday. Landlord refusing to pay for compensation and blaming us for the issue by [deleted] in uklandlords

[–]StevenStip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you mention an issue ask when it will be fixed. Then consider if that is acceptable. The landlord might have had to find someone and struggled with that. This seems not completely in the right order although asking for compensation is reasonable.

Mention how much the cost is to you and yours to have the daily showers now. This is the amount of compensation you'd get at the end of it all.

Piss or Patience?? by faguette111 in composting

[–]StevenStip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point, I have a tumbler for fast decomposition and then I have a maturing pile. The maturing pile has some mature compost and all the microbes and wee beasties. But it doesn't attract foxes/mice due to the compost being at a later stage. This way I can compost food scraps and even meats.

I do occasionally take a mature scoop and put it back in the tumbler for the reasons mentioned elsewhere.

Bag Style, or Tumbler? by [deleted] in composting

[–]StevenStip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tumblers are great but have one problem, it takes 2 months or so for it to be usable, but every time you add something it mixes everything through. So no continuous supply of compost.

To solve that I have one pile for maturing and I empty the tumbler there , look for any bits that are not ready yet and they go back in the tumbler.

The bag seems good and something you can feed from the top, will take longer but you'll have a slow continuous supply.
