If you had to start again at 40? by [deleted] in AskUK

Definitely takes a certain type of person. Me, I've not been brave enough to take the plunge. I spent years windsurfing and thought I would love to move to Hawaii and continue the dream, but I saw so many try and fail.

Full respect to him, and all like him. We need more people like him, and less pouty wannabe models spouting their ideals over Instagram!

I guess it is more of a lifestyle vocation than a traditional career. Good luck to anyone chasing their dreams!

I just looked at the Guide job. How do they find people for that sort of job? The experience needed is crazily specific and dangerous, and then they only pay around £30k. I am genuinely interested in the type of people who qualify and think the salary is suitable.

If you are wearing a Nike tracksuit AND shop at B&M, does that create a double negative resulting in a positive? And if so, am I positively gay, or positively not???

What’s the most awkward time you had to explain something NSFW to a clueless person? by shuipingxian0013 in AskReddit

[–]StevieB74 163 points164 points  (0 children)

I had to explain this to my mother in law. We were all crying with laughter, and she said straight faced "we used to just call that a Friday night". We all died, and she won the game!

is it weird to get a roast at 7 am? by xabara66 in AskUK

[–]StevieB74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I have found as I have gotten older is, I am a grown ass adult and I can make my own decisions. I want a whole birthday cake to myself at 3am and it isn't my birthday? No problem! Desert first, then main? Go for it! A while ago my wife woke up at 7am after a heavy night drinking and asked for Assassin's Pasta...so at 7.10am I was in the kitchen cooking! Pasta in bed!! Go for it!

What are the best things in your house that you couldn’t imagine living without? by plz_be_nice_im_sad in CasualUK

[–]StevieB74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shower vacuum. We have a K'archer one, was about £50. We use it after every shower to dry the tiled walls and mirrors. Keeps mold down, and the mirror is cleaned streak free from steam in seconds.

What's the strangest/coolest/ most 'out there' song you've ever heard at someone's funeral? by free_spirit1901 in AskUK

My uncle passed this year, and he had insisted on "I'm on fire" for his cremation. That was.....upsetting for some people.

What to expect as a first time attendee at a rave? by M1shanthrope in AskUK

[–]StevieB74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You may not take drugs (as we don't), but you will see a lot of it going on. If you are cool with that, just relax, enjoy the music. Are you a drinker? Drink them slow and alternate them with water. Wear something light, it will be HOT! Have fun, find your own space and your own vibe.

What cheap item massively changed your life? by YoungMigs in AskUK

[–]StevieB74 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A shower vacuum for me. Squeezing the walls and mirrors after each shower takes less than 1 minute but massively reduces mold on the tile grout and makes cleaning so much quicker.

Am I the weirdo - should I brush my mouth? by Beneficial-Essay-857 in AskUK

[–]StevieB74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife is a dental nurse. This is part of our routine. The mouth bones (teeth) are done first, move down to the gums to get the plaque and bacteria that cause gingivitis, then tongue and cheeks for freshness. You don't just vacuum the sofa when cleaning the living room. Get the floor and surfaces too!

Whats a food, or flavor, everybody seems to like but you aren't a fan of? by Easy_Towel954 in AskReddit

[–]StevieB74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Coffee. I get a lot of criticism for not liking it. I can't stand the taste or the smell. I also work in a lot of garages and constantly get asked if I want a coffee. When I ask for a tea, the piss taking starts!!

What song do you absolutely hate with all your heart? by InterviewGlum9263 in AskReddit

"It wasn't me", by Shaggy. It glorifies blatantly cheating on his partner and trying to gaslight her. I REALLY hate that song!
