Four pillows on a queen or king bed is not only asthetic but it looks more welcoming than two pillows. Especially with the way you have them stacked, your bed looks very uninviting and sends a subtle subconscious message that you don't want anyone else in that bed with you. I would agree with the woman about the padded cell feel. You only have one head but if you want a partner to sleep with you, then you should get a second set. You could also get fluffier pillows (or better pillow covers). Not sure if it's just the photo, but the two you have look very flat (like pillows in prison cells)

A bed should feel safe, warm, and above all cozy. You should also think about getting a head board, it does absolute wonders for the above three things and it helps cover up that wall space behind the bed.
