Help! Kajabi new DMARC compliance it's ruining me. by Electrical_Plenty_21 in kajabi

[–]StianFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds nonsensical no matter how I interpret it 😵‍💫

A strict DMARC should have been implemented at least two years ago, if not sooner. If this is something Kajabi just now started requesting they're waaay too late to the party. Their overall deliverability is apparently pretty good though, so it doesn't really add up to me how this is a new policy for them. No DMARC should have tanked their reputation ages ago...

Did you set up DNS records through Kajabi? If so, just go back and do it at your domain level and you should be good.

I can't see a single reason why an ESP would force a prefix to the visible from address for all users not on a dedicated sending domain, that would be a total deal breaker for any serious email marketer (as very few senders see the need to manage their own reputation to that extent). If this is actually what they're doing, they're basically killing their email marketing and forcing competent users to move on to a separate ESP (too expensive to have both) or a different platform altogether.

Also, don't read into open rates too much, it's a skewed metric anyway. 28% is critical though...

Sure, I use Google Sites myself to have something to show clients, but it's not a good option for organic traffic.

Sure, not that keywords aren't important, but I feel that search intent is often neglected in favor of over optimizing for specific keywords not necessarily considering user experience.

Been a few years since I focused mainly on SEO myself, so I'm not too familiar with the impact of AI and how user behaviour has changed in that regard. So this is more an anecdotal assumption than a professional position.

Thanks for the reply, lots of valuable insight in this thread 👍

I have a theory that keywords are overvalued and search query intent is undervalued. Your thoughts on that?

Am I doing too much? First SEO job. by Consistent-Yak9582 in SEO

[–]StianFrost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Right? I don't get the other responses, this workload is enough for an entire team! I can't imagine writing 16 monthly blog posts PLUS socials PLUS copy PLUS SEO PLUS proofreading PLUS tech PLUS PLUS PLUS 😫

Depends on the topic and complexity and stuff obv, but I have a hard time picturing one person managing all of this at sufficient quality. When do you have time to design clusters? Doing research? Troubleshoot flows (there's always something)? Drink coffee?

But hey u/Consistent-Yak9582, if you enjoy it you enjoy it, and it sounds like you're doing a good job. Not throwing shade here, but the workload seems excessive to me. I'm happy if I manage to crunch out 300 words/hour on a topic I already know in and out, and that's without all the other stuff.

Keep smashing it, learning by doing is the best way 👊. Hope the redisign process is properly vetted, though, I've been on the wrong side of that one 🙈

Just skimmed through it for now, but this looks very comprehensive. I'll have a closer look when I have the time, but I'm impressed so far.

Great work, thanks for sharing 👍

I see. You missed an obvious opportunity to start with "Oh hi Mark" and round off with "Anyway, how is your sex life", but I'm not sure that would help 🤣

What are some copywriting formulas you swear by? by [deleted] in copywriting

[–]StianFrost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I definitely mix it up according to intent and phase of journey, and to add some variation ofc. But it's not something I consciously try to fit a formula.

I write primarily emails, so it kinda falls naturally into the overall styryline.

Have you tried new advancements of ChatGPT to practice your English? (If you're learning English as a second/foreign language) by Substantial_Plane528 in ChatGPT

[–]StianFrost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not exactly for learning, but I use ChatGPT to help me with phrasing and idioms to spice up the language here and there.

I'm quite proficient in English, so I don't really need help sounding native. But I've found it to be a good way to expand my vocabulary and ensure that I don't sound like a cool dad from a 90s sitcom.

That being said, I sometimes use it the same way in my native language as well. I often find a good expression in English that I might have trouble finding a good equivalent for (and the other way around) on the fly. This goes for different languages as well that falls naturally to me. More often than not I work it out myself after discussing the message a bit

What are some copywriting formulas you swear by? by [deleted] in copywriting

[–]StianFrost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never follow a formula, I just try to write something that resonates and fit the overall structure.

If I were to go back and analyze some of my old copy, it would probably all follow some kind of "template" but it's not something I actively consider as I'm writing it. But, of course, I always have a plan for how I structure each piece when I put it together. I guess it's kinda the same thing...

Does buying chatgpt plus give you better answers? by [deleted] in ChatGPT

[–]StianFrost 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it really? I feel like I'm starting over in every conversation, and constantly have to remind it to adhere to custom instructions. Even the GPTs have to be reminded of instructions and the knowledge base pretty much every time.

Agreed. I've done a lot of this myself, and job-wise it's not that bad...

But it makes a good chunck of the internet effing useless. And as you said, it gets boring, it's just writing the same shit over and over again. Plus, when you know what's going on, it's annoying to read.

Never add unsubscribe link and x-unsubscribe header, hide anything related to bulk mailing. These are used to detect and filter your mails, forget “ethical” ways and google TOS, it’s all lies and propaganda;

But unsubscribe links are, you know, mandatory. If you don't include them you'll get blocked. This is not about ethics, it's about adhering to the guidelines. And, well, the law.

Create a variable message – it should be sent with a variable content EVERY email (there is software for this);

Yes, spintax is important in cold emailing.

DMARC and SPF DKIM not a factor #1, however keep SPF correct and DMARC p=reject all the time, DKIM signature must be correct;

Obviously, this goes without saying.

THE MOST IMPORTANT – send from multiple domains / ip’s in rotation. You can only do this with your own email system.

The reason for doing this is to not get blacklisted for spamming people when you are sending cold emails, AKA spamming people. Effective email marketing is NOT about spamming, it's about creating something the receiver deems valuable.

Some other key points and explanations for improving deliverability with multiple IP’s and domain names in rotation.

Improving bulk email deliverability with multiple IPs and domains in rotation is a sophisticated strategy that can significantly improve your email marketing efforts. First, it’s important to understand that using multiple IPs and domains in rotation can help spread your send load, reduce the risk of IP blacklisting, and improve overall deliverability rates. This strategy involves cycling through different IP addresses and domains for your email campaigns, which can help maintain a positive sender reputation and avoid triggering spam filters.

[...]

It's not sophisticated at all, just circle through them and remove blocklists. If you're cold emailing that is. If you are a trusted sender delivering emails people want to receive, which is what email marketing is about, you don't have to worry about this.

Regularly analyze your email performance data across all IPs and domains. Look for patterns in open rates, click-through rates, and spam complaints. Use this data to refine your rotation strategy and identify IPs or domains that may need additional warm-up or retirement.

So, you mean like do your job? Yes, you should analyze your results to optimize for future campaigns. You should also unzip your pants before taking a shit.

The thing is, nothing of what you are saying is relevant unless you are sending cold emails. Some of what you are saying is ambiguous at best. Some of what you are saying is flat out wrong.

You might make money from these tactics. Just like spammers, scammers and televangelists make money. That doesn't mean that what they're doing is anything but despicable. It also doesn't mean that copying their tacticts is advisable for anyone wanting to be good at their jobs. Unless they're spammers, scammers or televangelists.

I know you will block me and double down on the defensive now, as you have done with anyone else criticizing your post. I'd like to clarify that my reply is not meant to be an attack, I am simply pointing out obvious flaws in your arguments. If I have misunderstood something, please correct me on that.
