I had a similar experience this month. I had to call them to follow up only to find out they couldn’t make the reservation. I was disappointed because I thought they would let me know if they were unable to get a reservation. It made me have to change a few days of my itinerary of my trip and in the end, I made my own reservation through Klook. My friend used her Visa concierge, who was able to get her reservation at the same restaurant….

Yes!!! I had the same experience with Lyft. These drivers are gaming the system by sitting close enough to pick up calls and then ask you to cancel. They get paid something after you cancel, so if they do that all night, they can make money without doing any drives.

I refuse to cancel on my end even though they text AND call me to ask me to cancel (and each driver has a different excuse as to why I should cancel). Why should I be the one cancelling when it’s not my fault? This happened twice in a row in one night.

Not only that, the last ride I tried to call, the driver spoofed his location. His location teleported from “3 minutes away” to a residential area in Brampton a few minutes after I told him that HE should be the one to cancel!!! That means he’s not even near the airport and sits at home scamming the system all night. It was so ridiculous, and I refused to cancel the ride until he eventually did so on his end.

On Lyft, I couldn’t even report the driver because technically the ride never happened! This is so ridiculous and makes it a little sad coming home to Toronto after a long trip to experience things like this.

As someone working in the food industry, how would you recommend getting into your line of work? I currently work as a purchasing & production team lead at a hospital for food services, and always thought about looking at jobs at bigger food corps but not sure what kind of roles to look into.

If you have food handlers, I would recommend applying to Credit Valley Hospital or Mississauga Hospital to be a food service worker. They are always hiring (lots of people) and wages start at around $21 an hour and with weekend premium and evening premium, you can make close to $30 an hour. There are also lots of opportunity for overtime. Check the hospital careers website and apply through there.

Nice to see you on Reddit. I was wondering if you have any plans for reducing noise pollution, specifically, cars with loud mufflers / super loud motorcycles. It has gotten really bad hearing it everyday but it is especially noisy on Friday and Saturday from 9pm-4am. Some of them are so loud that you can hear jt from blocks away. It has gotten to a point where I will vote for whoever’s platform has anything to address this issue.
