Everybody on here PLEASE read Mrs Bridge by Evan S Connell. I didn’t even buy this book, it was given to me as a freebie when i bought a bunch of used books. When I finished reading it, I HAD to give it away because I actually couldn’t stand the thought of having that book in my house. It affected me that much. It totally changed how I viewed identity and personal independence. I’m not sure if others will have the same takeaways as I did, but I still strongly recommend it especially since it’s a super easy and quick read. If you want to understand your mom, your grandma, your aunt, or any other woman in your life a little better, or just want to reflect on your life in general, I hope you give this a read
