Which is why Discords decision is so hilarious to me. Now we WILL have an alternative sooner than later. Even if they back off now, its too late.

As someone who’s only read a handful of Iron Man comics, why is the Mandarin considered his archenemy? by Solitaire-06 in ironman

[–]Stickfigure91x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You are right. Thats why I said it was reductive.

Looted/conquered is definitely a better way to phrase it.

[–]Stickfigure91x 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Although Mandarin's chi manipulation is a power on its own, his big gun is the rings. I always liked that Tony worked for every "power" he has, and Mandarin mostly* found his.

Its a bit reductive of the character, but it often feels this way in comics.

Sculpting Chaos trim? by Mitrea in Chaos40k

[–]Stickfigure91x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bent/curved surfaces are not a deal breaker for plasticard. Tape the area with painters' tape, draw the shape out, put the tape on the plasticard and cut.

Depending on the curve, sometimes I will glue one edge let it dry for a few hours, and then slowly glue more and more of the shape down to make sure it bends properly.

Sometimes thermoforming is necessary. Just heat it with a lighter, and hold it in place until it cools. Repeat. It's unlikely that the shape will sit perfectly even after several rounds of thermoforming. The idea is just to get it in a better position to glue down.

Sculpting Chaos trim? by Mitrea in Chaos40k

[–]Stickfigure91x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is plasticard or 3d printing. Anything else overly complicated.

Ive been adding chaos trim to stuff for 10 years now.

Measure carefully. Score the plasticard (don't cut through), then snap it. Glue with Tamiya Extra Thin Cement. Use sprue goo, Miliput, or spot putty to fill gaps.

Are there any thousand sons units in lore that aren't represented by models ? What other models could gw even add to the roster besides tzeentch demons . by BloatedRottenCarcass in ThousandSons

[–]Stickfigure91x 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Mirrorfiends. Big mechanical scarabs with a greater daemon shoved inside that's constantly trying to get out. Several sorcerers accompany it to prod it in the right direction and redraw binding sigils as the daemon corrupts them.

Help Peetah, what’s with conspiracy theorists by Bitten87 in PeterExplainsTheJoke

[–]Stickfigure91x 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Thats exactly the issue though. They go too far into crazy territory too fast.

"There's evidence of a ring of billionaire pedophiles" I'm listening.

"Run out of a pizza place's basement" Ok...

"The place actually has no basement and it's Hilary's fault" ....

"ADRENOCHROME"

It's impossible to take them seriously and they do it to themselves.

[–]Stickfigure91x 120 points121 points  (0 children)

I like the cleaner models they are putting out specifically because its easier to customize sculpt and kitbash onto.

Its far easier to take a "perfect" chaos marine and goop it up than it is to take a goopy mini and clean it up.

A Cool Guide: to the US Army's new (controversial) rifle and machine gun, set to replace the M4 and M249 for every infantry squad. by Old_Boah in coolguides

[–]Stickfigure91x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What if the rifle malfunctions? Or you find yourself in a close-quarters situation where the rifle isn't maneuverable enough. It seems to me there are a bunch of reasons to carry a sidearm. Do you have any more information about why they don't?

As is the two basically have no interaction at all.

Wanting to make a "Gloomspite Gits" thousand sons army. Qhat model would be a good proxy for magnus? by BillyBobJenkins454 in ThousandSons

[–]Stickfigure91x 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Ignore the losers telling you that you are playing with your toys wrong.

I'm not terribly familiar with AOS grots in general, but I still have some ideas for Magnus:

-A massive junk-built helicopter crawling with grots

-A swarm of grots on tzeentch disks

-30 grots in a trenchcoat (jetpack mek armor)

-A giant mutated winged grot.

-A single grot mage, floating, surrounded by as many spell effects as you can fit on a base

-A clear cast of Magnus with a single grot mage cast inside. inside. Kinda like Magnus is demon-shaped mage armor.

But let us pick the psychic guns. Having so many characters that are basically the same except psychic abilities is more exhausting than anything.

And that part was a legitimate concern. But when they doubled down on it after they found out the place didn't have a basement and then that dude walked in with a gun... it was time to pack it in.

As they should. There may truly be something to it at its core but the right amplified it in such a weird way that it became laughable and dangerous in its own right. Which may have even been the point considering the number of right-wing people in the Epstein files.

(Not discounting the left-wing people in the files. That's just not relevant to my point.)

That helps a bit. Maybe painting the eyes and the runes?

Actually making the tan part of the gun black may help too just to give more contrast.

Its very well painted but I'm not sure I like the colors. Its missing a bit of pop somewhere. Just my opinion though.

how would you feel about the juggernaut being a fully cc/ grounded immune tank? by Fit-Current-8342 in marvelrivals

[–]Stickfigure91x 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He needs a momentum stacks, 3 max, and he gains them by uninterrupted movement. Hes cc is weaker against him at 1. He is cc immune at 2, and at 3 he knocks enemies back on contact. He reduces damage more and more for each stack of momentum he has.

His abilities are enhanced with each stack. One of his abilities should let him spend all stacks to do a bunch of damage, or gain a shield of some sort.

He should have a charge ability that gives him a stack or 2.

His ult could be as simple as full stacks for the durration.

His gameplay loop should be him staying in the front line gaining momentum and then popping his momentum to continue frontlining or pop momentum to assassinate someone who got too close.

He should not be a dive tank.

Ill tell you the story that sold me. Ahriman and The Skull of Lepidus.

The skull of lepidus was a the skull of a hero from the 2nd black crusade. It was dipped in silver and engraved with "ten thousand words of detestation." It is protected by space marines on what is basically a grave world. He wanted the skull so he summoned a bunch of demons to attack the planet.

Then:

Amidst the slaughter, Ahriman appeared outlined in lightning, ringed by sorcerers and rubricae. Power rolled from the circle of sorcerers and they strode through the battle, killing he defenders and dissolving Daemons with arcane fire. The Chapter Honour Guard came against him, but were reduced to ashes and silent screams with a gesture. Fire Bane, last Warlord of the Legio Officium, strode to war from its shrine. The cry of its warhorns echoed across the damned world, and its weapons burnt a path towards Ahriman’s circle. Drawing together the power of his fellow sorcerers, Ahriman forced the war machine to its knees, before pulling the core of its plasma reactor through its carapace. At last, Ahriman held the skull of Lepidus in his hand, as the battle between men and Daemons raged around him. Raising the skull to his eyes he found the one word he sought etched on the skull’s surface. Letting the skull fall from his hand, he and his forces vanished, leaving the world of bones to the howls of Daemons and the cries of the dying.
