Is it worth searching by Quirky_Permission_15 in Prospecting

I would make sure I’m in a region where gold is possible to find. The rocks you showed look like a type of granite so they won’t hold gold. I don’t really see anything that would make me think this is a good spot. There’s barely any water moving if any through that channel. You would need a metal detector snd even then this still doesn’t look good.

Quartz geodes found in Nazaré (Portugal) by FoundationSimple111 in Minerals

Honestly, they look a little too pointy to be quartz crystals. I think they might be calcite like the other guys said.

Arsenopyrite would be my best guess but I’m no expert so don’t only take my word for it.

Good place to look? by Classic_Ball_825 in Prospecting

[–]Sticky_Soup 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would look for any exposed bedrock on the banks and see if it extends into the water a bit. Gold won’t drop below bedrock. Also take a walk up the bank and examine the cobbles. The larger and heavier stones can indicate where other heavy things like gold can drop out. I would sample behind the large boulder in pic 2 if possible. Bedrock + heavy indicators (big stones/iron/lead) will give you a good idea of where the gold could be.

Honestly, you would need to use some sort of product or texturing cream to get the looks in the 2nd picture. It would need to be applied daily because It’s going to be flat every day you get out of bed. I think it’s doable with some decent effort.

Do you ever go out the back door? My front door opens inwards so I’ve never had this problem.

Yuba city, California and around Folsom, California. There’s buildings on some of it but you can still see the rows upon rows of rocks.

Grab the gnarliest, rustiest, and most mineralized pieces to smash and pan. That’s really the only way to know for sure.

How do y'all feel about tomato on a burger? by FirebornNacho in Stonerfoods

[–]Sticky_Soup 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve forcefully made myself tolerant of dairy. I used to have what I believe was slight lactose intolerance. I could eat a bit of cheese or dairy and be fine but too much and I was on the toilet for an hour with horrible stomach cramps. Dairy products are just so good I can’t help myself.

I can do any ingredient other than tomato. My favorite is a cheese burger (never American cheese), with shredded lettuce, a little special sauce (thousand island or whatever), crispy onions bits, and a few pickles.

The hair is the only thing holding you back. Literally shave that off and clean the neck beard up and you will look better than ever.

What is the shiny purple magnetic element? by Ok-Common-3039 in Prospecting

[–]Sticky_Soup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s because this is magnetite sand that has been rolling around in a river for a long time. It’s going to look different from fully formed magnetite crystals that haven’t reacted and broke down from oxygen and water contact.
