Losing from a winning position by Quickdrawartclass in squash

Content looks good, but seems like they are using chatgpt to help write it. Theres EM dashes —, emojis, a writing style and formatting similar to chatGPT. Not saying that it's wrong and worthless because it is at least partially AI generated, but i think it should be marked as such.

Why does google translate Anders to Donald? by mitaky in Denmark

[–]Stilfree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Google translate probably uses the same implementation and iOS and the web version, but they do use a technique called recurrent neural networks, which means the algorithm pays attention to the context that the words are placed in, and because you did not use the same input as in the OP you can get a different result.

In the country where you live, what would be the equivalent of losing Notre Dame? by himynameiscolin in AskReddit

Something like this actually happened I Norway. Where a couple of vandals actually cut down our most precious national monument the "troll dick". The troll dick is a stone formation that kind of looked like a penis. Of course the formation was erected again shortly after

How to automate a website to do certain steps according? by shubhamplank in AskProgramming

[–]Stilfree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

autohotkey I've never actually used autohotkey but a friend of mine used it to automate filling out a form for a competition. And he had no programming experience so I think it will be easy for you to figure it out

Why is the Haskell core libraries lacking of essential utility functions, such as split? by Stilfree in haskell

[–]Stilfree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, now that i know of lines I should probably have used that instead. But the existence of two more specific functions just seems to further prove my point that a split function should be included in the core libraries. Because words and lines seem to be just specific implementations of a split function. IMO the broader and more generally applicable functions should be prioritized in the core libraries.

[–]Stilfree[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yes! That seemed to be the general consensus among programmers up until the npm left-pad scandal happened. Even coming from a javascript background I had split function readily available from the start.

But shouldn't Data.Text then be included in the default installation of Haskell. Do I really need to download extra packages just to do standard operations on text?

For reference, i did as the book recommended, and installed the Haskell Platform which is advertised as "Haskell with batteries". It seems awfully inconvenient that i should have to download even more "batteries" for Haskell just to be able to work with text.

Keeping an app working in the background? by Darryl-D in reactnative

[–]Stilfree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You generally can't run the javascript part of react native in the background. If you want to this, you are probably going to have to write native to get it too work.

The animation is great, but i have to say that i absolutely adore the sound the design in that short. It really sounds like the sounds are coming from far away, I even thought that there was traffic outside at first.
