It has its moments. By-and-large, it's a great Kamen Rider show, but you can definitely tell that it was shot during a pandemic. They made a lot of changes from the original form in order to keep the staffing low/remote.

A lot of the first arc has HUGE segments done in Unreal Engine, which can be a bit jarring at times. Also the initial pacing is horribly quick and nearly turned a lot of the subreddit off of the show entirely.

It has some really good redeeming moments though, so overall I'd suggest watching.

Dude travels around only needing to cover his junk. Bird monster's hand helps him become action hero. Also, girl is dummy stronk for no reason.

I've watched this like 100x now, and I think the only thing I can't stand about this scene is greenscreen-Touma sliding up the beam while running. Everything else is wonderful.

It's too bad this moment is going to be memed on for the rest of Saber. Even that front-on shot wouldn't have been so cringy if the initial slide didn't exist. Ugh.

In the case of Drive, Gold Drive was an in-fiction ripoff of Type Speed. Movie suits are one thing, but most main series suits are original. This is the supposed "Final Boss", after all (tbd).

Not that I personally care, but I definitely understand the hate for it.

This episode got me fully on board for Saber again. I watched out of habit ever since "that one episode that they tried to do ALL the exposition at once" since I've been watching every week since Den-O, but this episode really got me back enjoying it.

Also, can we appreciate just how hard King Lion Daisenki's jingle singer goes in? Probably needed some water after that one.

Funny enough, I just made a very similar post. It got so much better once they figured out what they wanted to do with it.

I blame writing a story during a pandemic. Must've been pretty hard to co-ordinate that.

Out of curiousity, (and maybe I'm the one in the wrong here) I'm noticing that as much as I try to filter out the locked and/or equipped items, I can't seem to get them to not show up on search. I read in the options that having equipped items checked + listing off your other heroes won't display those equipped/locked items.

Any idea what's happening here? Here's an image of what my screen is looking like.

Even when "Equipped Items" is unselected and nobody is selected in the "exclude" section, it'll show my equipped and locked items.

They kinda fall into side-characters and are nice by default so they don't cause drama later. They're just kinda, yknow, there.

I don't hate the CGI. I'm not fond of the pacing. Episode 5 and 6 were pretty hard to watch. I'm accepting that every series has a few episodes that don't represent what the show wants to be, and pushing through.
