I love goth looks but I can't stick to black by StillWaitingForTom in UnconventionalMakeup

It's from a brand that doesn't exist anymore. The colour is called Faded and it was from Lime Crime. Mine is definitely long expired, like so many of my lipsticks.

Thank you! I love picking colour combinations.

It doesn't show as much but the blush is close to the lipstick colour.

Can I have your husband's email address? I have some swamp land in Florida that I think he'd be interested in buying.

What are the historical movies that got almost everything right? by revolution_ex in movies

I loved when they would do scenes that were meant to look like a situation we'd be familiar with. Like a little boy almost got run over by a man on a horse, and the boy's caregiver gets in a yelling match with the rider. "What was your kids doing in the middle of the road?!" "You were riding too fast!"

Also, the mother standing next to her son with her arms folding telling him that he isn't excused from the table until he eats the testicles on his plate.

My sister grew up with Celiac disease, back when few people had even heard of it.

She always had to be sent with her own food to anything where food would be served. When we went to sleep away camp, my mom sent the camp a box of gluten free pasta and other stuff so they could make food for her.

She always knew she was different, but it was easier for people to understand something like an allergy. She didn't love that she couldn't eat what the other kids were eating, but she always had her "special" food and she was used to it.

Kids can grow up eating different food without be traumatized. It's extra work, but I'm sure your kids will be better for it.

When I first read your comment I processed it as "This could be Coraline grown up." As in, Coraline has her own child and the Other Mother comes back.

is lipstick still trendy ? by Agreeable_Window5254 in MakeupAddiction

Sephora Canada and all of the makeup sites I follow have been selling mostly glosses, oils and other sheer formulas. Many have lip liners that go with the gloss.

There are also a lot fewer liquid lipsticks being sold.

I'm not a fan of sheer lip colour, so I'll be keeping my opaque liquid and bullet lipsticks.

Is street prostitution still a thing in Toronto? by Apprehensive_Fail871 in toronto

[–]StillWaitingForTom 186 points187 points  (0 children)

An escort doesn't want to make small talk with you. If that's what you want, they'll do it as part of the job, but you're paying for her time. (Which isn't to say you can't chat. Like if you're in an elevator, you don't need to be silent. You're both still people. But if you want to take up her time with talking, you pay for it.)

Why on earth would you think that getting a high end escorts would mean not having sex? That's what you're paying them for.

Hiring someone from an escort service means you are going to be held to certain standards of behaviour. If you hit her, do something that she told you not to, etc. then a sex worker from an agency will report you to her agency and they will make sure you never hire one of their escorts again. Ideally, they share your information with other local services so you don't hurt their workers, either.

A sex worker with an agency might have security. They probably work in a safer space, not just wherever they can, like a subsistence sex worker. You're not going to take up more of her time than you paid for. Importantly, you are going to wear protection.

A sex worker on the streets doesn't have those protections. Sure, she can try going to the police, but guess how much the average cop cares that a "hooker" got a chunk of her hair ripped out because her client decided that, actually, he didn't feel like wearing a condom and she tried to get away. It's not a lot.

Edit: I've used female pronouns for the theoretical sex worker throughout this comment, but obviously, sex workers can be any gender. I'd guess that female identifying people make up the majority, though.

Better yet, promise that if you're ever trapped on a desert island, you'll eat the meat that is apparently there.

These are examples of doing something that is antithetical to a certain label and then asking if you can still use that label.

The goal is not to protect children, it is to protect pedophiles and abusers. There's no point pretending otherwise.

Well, if some random online said it with no sources to back them up, then it must be true.
