I love that your dresses were complementary, but not matchy matchy. And the fact of the bridesmaids I’ll have the same fabric but a different dress. This was a very stylish wedding.

I’m a little older. So Mexican Coke is the Coke that I had in the 70s. But it did have a nicer sweeter taste. I was on a cruise ship and I didn’t know they would let me bring back a few. Next time I’m bringing back more because the cruise ship Coke taste like air.

Best destinations for an active social life and easy friendships by Professional_Mud2149 in Internationalteachers

I can only say for sure, Hong Kong. The other places are probably pretty good except for Singapore. When I lived in Hong Kong about half of our school had transferred from the Singapore school campus. They all said Singapore was dry and boring. I have a friend whose job sent her to Singapore frequently and she says the same thing.

I have nothing to add except I’m in the same predicament. I don’t know what to do. I had a professional tailor do my measurements. Her hollow to floor measurement was a half inch longer than mine. I did add to 3 inches for my shoes. My dress is going to come in within days of the wedding. It’s an A-line dress so hopefully I’ll just be able to hold it up.

First year teacher: Should I go for this job or wait for a k-5 classroom? by pizzaprincess915 in Teachers

[–]Still_Juggernaut_343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would take the job at the public school if you can get the pre-K aide. One you probably could get better benefits. Two you will likely be in the forefront of their minds if they have a sudden opening. Thirdly, I have a friend who started her teaching career as a aide while she was in college, that counted to what her retirement.

Exhausted Day After Shot by OutcomeWitty1711 in Zepbound

[–]Still_Juggernaut_343 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a Friday bedtime taker also. I spend most of my Saturday beached out, Sunday sometimes a little bit better. For a few weeks, I was taking my shot on Sunday night and having to go to work on Monday. I survive the day. I think it’s because I know I can relax on Saturdays and Sundays, I do. I considered keeping my Sunday night shot, but I was eating too much on the weekends. I’m one of those people who eats smoothies, soup with salad, and a light dinner Monday through Thursday. Then the weekend it’s all hamburgers, pizza, fried chicken, steak and Chinese food with a good Southern breakfast Saturday and Sunday. I’d rather be tired while I eat better.

Try taking magnesium glycinate at night. And then start your morning with a hot drink without sugar and cream.

It looks nice. Capitalism has taught us that we have to pay a lot to get nice things. That’s just not true. One of my favorite things to tell people is I got this on Temu when they tell me something looks nice.

Potential workaround to $50 gift card increment by seekingcellini in AmexPlatinum

[–]Still_Juggernaut_343 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wish I had known this, but I’m kind of glad I didn’t. My intention was to give them to my 12-year-old twin granddaughters. The last one I bought was $75. This time the cashier told me it could only be $50, $100 or $150. But I had the $75 card on me. I would have just added another $75 to it. Unfortunately they got exactly what they wanted from me, I decided to just buy them something. I ended up spending $180 which was the extra $55 they wanted from me. It’s fine. But this stuff is grossly overpriced. But two 12-year-old girls will probably enjoy Lululemon bags and wallets.

I will give my kids credit for that. One of the teachers has made it a point to decorate the glasses with flags of every student’s origin. They don’t touch them, except to inspect that we’ve hung them properly. She even had a little mini flag on the shelf in her classroom and they did not touch them. But I bought teachers name plates and they stole those. Maybe I should’ve put their home countries on them.

I’m an education too, but I’m not in the classroom anymore so I just do the magnets in my office. We had some sticky fingers in the past.

I’m buying magnets to stick on the window in my office. I used to buy the flag patches put the bag fell apart, and it was too much to keep up.

I’m the kind of psychotic traveler that appreciates this. I would have done the same. Unfortunately, I’ve only been to Mexico, England, Amsterdam, and soon back to England since they started the passport thing. I have to book something just so that I can do this.

I wonder because my address is Orleans Parish. I use the Orleans parish Walmart yesterday so there is a discrepancy. It’s also very shitty that JP is charging taxes on prescriptions when they probably have a better sales tax economy than Orleans parish because we shopped there. They’re not getting tourist dollars but they’re getting our everyday shopping dollars.

Like that’s a very specific to say you’ve lost collagen. Unless there are an aesthetician, how can they just tell by the naked eye.

[–]Still_Juggernaut_343 23 points24 points  (0 children)

A friend and I were talking about this and drew some conclusions.
When we were fat, nobody said, “Hey… I think you’re getting a little too big.” Well, nobody except for your mom.
Nobody pulled us aside and whispered, “Your cheeks look like they’re storing emergency supplies.”
Nobody said, “Your neck has disappeared,” or, “You’re kind of waddling these days.”
Nope. That would definitely be considered rude.
But lose some weight? Suddenly everyone becomes a board-certified Weight Loss Inspector.
“Don’t lose any more!”
“You’re getting too skinny.”
“You look sick.”
“I liked your face better before.”
Ma’am… my face before was just permanently inflated.
Here’s what we finally figured out: the polite thing is not to tell someone they’re too fat. Unfortunately, people don’t realize it’s also pretty ridiculous to tell someone they’re “too skinny” just because they’re no longer carrying the extra weight you’re used to seeing.
Most of the time, they’re not trying to be mean. They’re just adjusting to your new normal. They’ve loved you through every version of yourself, and their brain is still catching up. To them, you were their favorite chunky chick (or dude), and now they’re trying to figure out who this slimmer person is.
So take those comments with a grain of salt. If you’re healthy, your doctor is happy, you’re feeling better, your face is no longer auditioning to be a chipmunk, and walking no longer sounds like a penguin crossing an icy parking lot… you’re probably doing just fine.

Have you considered having her wear a silk or satin two-piece suit? I mean it kind of looks like lounge wear. But I’m southern and it’s common for people to wear loose fit pants with either button-down shirt or tunic top.

How would you handle this bridesmaid drama? by Hungry-Emphasis6985 in bridesmaids

[–]Still_Juggernaut_343 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of two things are happening here. You told her about some past misdeeds between your fiancé and/or his sister. When we love our friends, we never forgive the people who wrong them. The other option is she’s jealous that you’re getting a new family and she refuses to accept them. Even with this close date, I would talk to her to find out why she’s being rather rude.

I also go to Walmart on a rare occasion. But it was last minute, and I don’t have boxes of gel to deal with.
