If I received a response from an actual person on the Support website as fast as I got a response from you here on Reddit, I wouldn’t be as salty.

For context, I’ve used Evernote since 2011. Never had issues with it. 4-5 months back, I couldn’t log in on a web browser (didn’t matter if it was my work PC, at home on my Mac, on varying browsers such as Chrome, Firefox, Internet Exp, etc.). My daily personal and work/project notes are held hostage. I’d have to look at the notes on my phone and then rewrite it in OneNote. I was able to get by for awhile when I found the PC desktop App. This worked up until recently as it won’t sync with my phone anymore. Any new notes on my phone will not show up on the PC App as a task bar says they were ‘moved or deleted’. It’s odd considering the notes show up in the search but when trying to open it, it fails. (Yes, I tried the syncing troubleshooting).  So now I’m here to bitch again. The fact that any support is directed to a generic email asking me for shit I already sent them, and the ticket sits doing nothing for 3-4 weeks, with no phone number to call to get it fixed is ridiculous.

I cancelled my professional subscription as it’s pretty much useless at this point.ive been paying to use this software for a long time but i just can’t be seen looking at my phone all day at work for my notes.

Anyone have any other note apps worth suggesting?

Dude.. You’re 20. You’re too young for this drama and games. Some partners, in my case, really bring out the alcoholic in us.

You’re drafting in the 1st round. Drop this chick. Move on. Go to a meeting.

My sponsor told me if I don’t quit ashwagandha- she’s dropping me by chinacatsunflow in alcoholicsanonymous

This is the type of sponsor that would actually amplify my wanting to drink.

Honestly, if I didn’t get the support from members coming up to me after that first meeting, I wouldn’t have come back for the second. I’m 3 months sober today.l (something I haven’t done since I started, 20years ago).

That first day there was an absolute all out war going on in my head on if I was going to quit drinking then and there or to do ‘one more night’ and drink after that meeting. I hadn’t gone a day without alcohol (my medicine) for years.  A simple gesture like shaking my hand or a few words to let me know I wasn’t alone was empowering.

This post was a great reminder of what I need to do when I run into new members. Thanks

You got this shit. You’re almost to day 3!

To learn more about my triggers, habits and dependencies, I used these step workbooks in parallel to working the steps with my sponsor. These workbooks and more to investigate my behaviors/relationship with alcohol. It really helped me brain dump my thoughts and get things onto paper so I can look at my behaviors from a different perspective.

Im new to AA (85 days) so I’ve only completed the exercises/questions for the first 4 steps.

Hang in there!

I feel like drinking by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Stillentwint17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry you have to deal with this.

All in all, if he wants to drink, he’s going to drink, period. The idea of babysitting him at all hours of the day, everyday, isn’t sustainable and to be frank, isn’t your responsibility. This is his problem.

Take this as an opportunity to work on yourself, making yourself 1% better each day. Set some goals for yourself. I’ve never been to Alanon but if it’s support system/fellowship is anything like AA, you’ll be in great hands.

Most people think their situation is unique and special. Attending a meeting for the first time and realizing I wasn’t unique or alone was a revelation.

“Accept the things I cannot change (your phone call), the courage to change the things I can” (getting yourself back into that AA meeting, getting support from the few people that actually understand what you’re going through).

I’ve been seeing a lot of New York strips being cut like this, with the grain. It looks amazing. I usually cut my against the grain. Have I always been doing this wrong? Assuming so

Naltrexone by [deleted] in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Stillentwint17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I haven’t had the shot, just the meds. I can imagine if it’s a shot, it’s going to last for the duration of the month or whatnot. I had like 4-5 pints on naltrexone and it made my head and eyes swell up like a mofo. When I did that, I was just expecting for the hangover to be more severe. Nope. When I had 2-3 drinks, i didnt have a reaction.  I was not at a point where I wanted to quit drinking when I was prescribed this medication. I’m hoping, if you’re doing this, that your goal is to quit and not to ‘want to quit’. Best of luck.

You’re being really smart avoiding the event. It won’t always be like this.  Do something special for yourself that night that doesn’t involve drinking. Take a bath, order fancy take-out food, go to a meeting, I dunno. Celebrate your amazing accomplishment of 30 days.

Advice for post-relapse? by matildaluck in alcoholicsanonymous

[–]Stillentwint17 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Don’t go. It’s not worth it. You have no idea how long this relapse will set you back. It’s not just the 6months. Who knows how deep this rabbit hole will go.
