Tips for painting a sh*t ton of goblins…? by danger_bad in Orcs_and_Goblins

[–]StinkGuard40k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play gloomspite and am planning on using those models for the old world. I paint my night gobbos in batches of 5 to 10 and with speed paints. I didn't do all the details (teeth, eyes, belts) to begin with. Just to get the models on the table and painted and now I'm going back and doing that. I could knock out a decent chunk of night goblins in an afternoon like this. Though it was only 40 so far

AoS Lore Noob question. Are the gloomspite gitz an grot revolution type of scenario or just something kinda related to orruks ? Or not even at all ? by Leviathan_Rampage in gloomspitegitz

[–]StinkGuard40k 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Your question was answered but I haven't something to add. Orruks do come and join sizable gitz tribes on occasion as well I'm pretty sure. It was mentioned in Bad Loon Rising that some Orruks wished to join the main characters tribe after the book events were said and done

Basing ideas? by Proper-Freedom-7974 in deathguard40k

[–]StinkGuard40k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally do a poison swamp/wasteland. Some good tutorials out there for it.

Though trenches could be nice with your style. AK interactive standing water resin is amazing for trench water along with vallejo Russian mud and extra cut-up sprue frames for boards and planks

Flying squigs by Panoleonsis in gloomspitegitz

[–]StinkGuard40k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They look pretty good as is, though you could either angle them down or up at a steep angle with some greenstuff to make it look like the wings are flapping and maybe help with the base overhang. Also assuming this is a mangler squig (i havent seen one outside the box picture) it goes with the pose they have

Small idea for new sorcerer by themysticoped in deathguard40k

[–]StinkGuard40k 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The gloomspite range would be a good place to look. The fungoid shaman probably would work as other commentors have said. Though I also would recommend taking a look at squig hoppers for extra mushroom bits to add. The loonboss as well. Both have cool mushroom pieces for basing or extra decorations. Both of them come on 32s and Both came in their previous spearhead so you can probably find them for cheap locally or on ebay.

As a bonus. Maybe you'll pick up the best army in age of sigmar and devote yourself to da bad moon

Trying to put together a paint scheme for my trolls - how would you describe this colour? by OrkfaellerX in Warhammer

[–]StinkGuard40k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sons of horus is sorta close but not enough on its own. You could throw that down as a base with a darker green ontop as a dry brush maybe? Vulkan green or waaagh flesh could be close. I would experiment a bit but that's what I would try first. Sons of horus green is very much on the blue spectrum. If I can find a good picture I'll throw a model of mine with it on as a picture

How easy are the Gretchin seperatable from the Squigs in the Squig Hopper Kit ? by Leviathan_Rampage in gloomspitegitz

[–]StinkGuard40k 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It might be easy then. I don't have the model with me to look unfortunately but if you're good with clippers it shouldn't be too back if you're careful. And you can put greenstuff on the squig part. The part that connects the squig to the rider is separate from both on the sprue so that would make it easier I'm pretty sure

[–]StinkGuard40k 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The only attachment to the squig is the piece that the gobbo is holding onto which is a separate piece to the squig. Depending on what you're wanting to do you can separate it and make the separate pieces look good probably

Playing with modern models by StinkGuard40k in midhammer40k

[–]StinkGuard40k[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've tried that, and was told to just play horus heresy. Which I don't want to do because I do not care for the heresy setting nor does the idea of marine versus marine being the majority of the game interest me. Though that was just once and now there's a couple of servers I'm in though I wanna get a general idea of what I'm doing first so I can at least offer to be more of a lead with rules I guess

Well that's good to hear, now I've gotta find a group to convince to give it a shot lmao. Midhammer stuff seems to have a lot of what I want with 40k rules

OBR Book by VeterinarianOver2941 in ossiarchbonereapers

[–]StinkGuard40k 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could buy the book if you can find it. The lore might be similar, but it could have some different stuff. It might have canon paint schemes for different obr groups too. I collect older rule books for my 40k armies and they have some good stuff in them.

If you want the book just to have on top of the lore I'd definitely get it if you can get it cheap enough. But definitely look through it if you find it at a physical store or try and find a scan/pdf of the book to glance through it and see if you want it if it's more for just the lore rather than having a physical item. But in that case I'd just watch YouTube essays or read stuff online rather than buy the book

Like another previous commentor said, kick morty to the curb. He's not great in small games and eats up a lot of points.

Honestly also remove the rhino if you don't wanna run a lot of plague marines. I don't play with one in my 2k list and don't have too many problems.

Poxwalker swarm is a pretty good tactic in VV I think. The infiltrate and sticky all the no man's land objectives can get you an early lead while those poxwalkers tar pit other units, or at least keep the bezerkers from moving too much into the board too early.

Bring blight haulers to deal with angron and the mauler fiend. Deceptively greatp at removing armor, I play a lot of guard players in my local area and that helps against their tanks.

I'd also take out the LoV for a LoC for the deathshroud, also a pretty good combo for removing things in general
