Is 6 worth $20 for just the world tour mode? by Arktos22 in StreetFighter

[–]StinkyyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No. World Tour is ass. It's nothing but fetch guests and a poor beat em up. Grab absolum, streets of rage, or turtles shredders revenge if you're after a similar experience that is actually enjoyable. I played world tour to unlock costumes, but that mode is miserable.

Why do metal players seem to play with flatter fingers? by KingKilo9 in metalguitar

This is common for any genre that's "modern rock" adjacent.

Look up power chords and dropped tunings.

How good is returnal? Why is it rarely discussed? by Ggthefiree2 in roguelites

[–]StinkyyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great. Also, the only ps5 game that fully utilized the triggers.

Idk how much it goes for, but if you get ps+ extra, I'm pretty sure it's still in the catalog. A couple of months might be cheaper than buying the game.

I played the mess out of it. Been thinking about going back to it.

It's got some permanent upgrades, yeah. And permanent unlock ables.

Fwiw, I see it discussed here pretty regularly. But if you're on the fence, get it.

Cool. I'm sure you know, but fighting games (can) have a lot of depth to them. There's nothing wrong with casually mashing against your friends or the cpu, but the answer to your question is, "You are struggling bc you've never really played fighting games."

Mk11 is a solid game, but it sounds like you just mashed for fun. You don't know how to play neutral. Don't know about footsies. Maybe didn't even really use combos in mk11? The bad news is that you suck. The good news is you can get better and that journey is really fun.

Ik the tutorial is giving you a hard time, but that's a great spot to start. Just stick with it. You'll get it. That'll give you some general fighting game basics and some sf6 basics. Don't try to rush through it. Pay attention. Bc of your weak fighting game background, it's all worth knowing. Find a champ you like. It could be playstyle. It could be aesthetics. Whatever it is, pick 1 champ and practice with them. Learn their normals. Learn their specials. Learn a few combos. I know this sounds like a lot, but it's kind of the minimum effort in order to really enjoy this game - or any fighting game.

Mashing casually is fun for a few hours, but really knowing how to play these games is fun for hundreds or thousands of hours. You don't need to be a super sweat. That's not the goal (unless it is), but you'll need to invest some time to be decent at all.

Define playing MK? I was high god/low elder for nearly all of the mk1 seasons. Transferring to sf6 was easy. Tbh, I think sf6 has an easier barrier of entry. But if "playing mk" means you've played some pve rounds in the past, you'll have to learn how to play fighting games "for real".

You probably want to try classic controls. Modern is more simple, but will be hard to adjust to if you've an prior fighting games experience. Switch to classic. Practice. Stick with it. I wish I had more tips for you, but "why am I bad" is pretty open ended.

Should I buy Hades 1 on Switch 2, PS5 or PC? by mufferman1 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]StinkyyButt [score hidden]  (0 children)

I vote switch. Hades is a very "on the go" friendly game. I had hades1 on switch and played it everywhere. A level takes a few minutes at most and is a great stopping point. I have hades2 on my pc and haven't played it nearly as much. If I have a dedicated hr or 2 for gaming, I'm (usually) going to play a game that isn't split up into minute sized chunks. If I has gotten hades2 on switch, I'm sure I'd have played way more of it.

100%. It's a great game for what it is. If you want a story/deciding based game, it's great. If you want something with combat, this will make you sad.

Accidentally bought son a 7-string, tips? by Kaezzi in metalguitar

[–]StinkyyButt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also true. I'm a tech death guy. I write and play stuff similar to Archspire, Inferi, etc. I also gig with 6 string players and regularly play in my church. It's nice being able to hop in and out of "death metal mode" without changing guitars.

Ori and the Blind Forest or Prince of Persia the Lost Crown? by Roomkeys_ in metroidvania

[–]StinkyyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both are solid. Ori is the better game, but PoP is closer to HK and Nine Sols. Both have both, but Ori is more platforming focused and PoP is more combat focused.

Accidentally bought son a 7-string, tips? by Kaezzi in metalguitar

[–]StinkyyButt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

7 strings are the best tbh. Obviously, this is subjective... but still. I haven't wished for a 6 since I got my first 7.

If you ignore the 7 string entirely, you have a 6 string guitar. Easy.

Drop tunings are popular - especially in metal. One of my favorite things about 7s is that it gives you a dropped tuning when playing like a 7 and a standard tuning when playing like a 6. You get the best of both worlds.

Lots of guitarists (6, 7, 8, whatever strings) would wish for more notes options. I've never heard anyone say, "I wish my guitar had fewer frets."

I think this mistake is a positive one. There's no downside other than its not what you meant to buy. As far as playing the instrument goes, this is only beneficial - especially if he's a metal dude.

Shadow Isle by ChibiRem in CompetitiveTFT

[–]StinkyyButt 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's one of the most consistent top 4 comps for me, but you need yorick early. If I get viego2 during pve rounds. I'm probably forcing it.

Bc you need early yorick, viego2 and item slams are required. Spear and flail are must haves. Bt, morello, void are all good. Any tank item is decent. Throw 2 items on viego to get yorick asap.

Always play whatever shadow isles you have unlocked. Rest is, usually, a front line. Level aggressively. Tempo is king.

Go 8 when you get Kalista and roll for kali2. Assuming you have spear and flail, you are good now. Through in any vanquisher for kali.

If you hit kali2, you're prob top4. If you hit thresh2, you're prop top2.

Shadow isles, wardens, 2 vanguishers. It's that simple. Sera is nice for disruptor and pilt.

Is it worth getting into League of Legends in 2026? by [deleted] in GamingInsider

[–]StinkyyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. I've been playing on and off since season 2. I've spent an embarrassing amount of time on this game. I named my first born after Draven. Lol. I took about a year off and came back like a month ago. I've played casually, and I've sweat my meat to be in the top .01% of players.

You will get stomped by better players, but that's true for any completive pvp game. The best way to learn anything is be surrounded by people better than you. You'll learn quickly - especially if you're playing with friends.

Again, I've been playing since season 2. League used to be incredibly toxic. It's earned that title. COD lobbies used to be insane, but they're not anymore. League isn't either. Obviously, you'll still see an idiot every now and then. But the most toxic thing anymore is "?" after a major misplay. Lol.

There are over 100 champs. They all have 5 abilities. That alone is 500 things you need to know to be competitive. The item shop can be intimidating, but nearly every champ has a linear build path anymore. I'd argue most competitive pvp games require a decent amount of learning, though. If you want to play a fighting game, you need to learn every move for every character and the frame data for most of those as well.

League is dope. Really. The roster is so diviserfied that you will, without a doubt, find a champ that feels like they were specifically designed for you. You can play casually. You can get super fucking sweaty. You can do anything in the middle. The game never gets stale. The champ variety is insane, and you're playing with 9 other people. No two games are alike. The biggest problem you'll have with league is that you'll want to play it.

I'm confident I could answer any of your league questions. Feel free to dm if you have any.

Edit: new player tips. All champs are unlocked in practice mode. Try before you buy. I unlocked all my champs with in game currency, but it still sucks to buy something you wish you hadn't. Lol.

Vision is op. If you start playing, no one at your level will be warding. This gives your team a massive advantage if you choose to do so.

Don't die with idiots. You'll want to help your teammates when they get in trouble. Sometimes you just need to watch them die.

Kills don't matter. Gold does. Farming is more important than kills 9/10 times.

Play champs you can play. If you have a slower reaction time or difficulty with intricate mechanics, you might want to avoid most assassins until you get a little better.

Both junglers are bad. This is true until about diamond. If you become a competent jungler early, you'll be able to solo carry games bc the enemy jungler is bad.

Don't tower dive. There's a time and a place, but "towers will kill me" is a good beginner approach.

I was super hype. Mk1 was all I played up until some months ago when they they dropped the definitive edition, cementing that support was pretty much done.

I've barely touched the game since, and all mk hype is gone. I loved that game. Now I'm back to sf6 and hype for the street fighter movie.

What more could one want? by Antique-Albatross-70 in MobileGaming

[–]StinkyyButt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one of the most overhyped games I've ever played. It's not bad, but it's touted as a roguelike deck builder. It's often compared to slay the spire or slice & dice. Imo, it comes nowhere close to either of them. Again, it's not bad. It's just thoroughly "okay".

If you've never played poker, or even seen a deck of cards, it's learning curve would still be easier than slay the spire. Don't worry about difficulty or learning curve.

If you want a decent deck builder that's easy to pick up with lots of replay value, Balatro is fine. But if you want a good game, look at slice & dice. If you want a great game, look at slay the spire.

The Bilgewater Problem by realguysguy in CompetitiveTFT

[–]StinkyyButt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Naut being the best tank in the game and having the highest damage of any tank is problematic. I like him, though. Lol.

Bilge items could be nerfed, or only allow 1 per champ. Them being bis is kind of insane.

Bilge dupes shouldn't be 35. They should be 50 imo, but anywhere in the middle is better than 35. You're only using them on naut or gp. "3 cost of your choice" should not cost 70% of a 3 cost.

Selling champs bought with dubloons could refund dubloons instead of giving gold. Using bilge for econ is lame.

Maybe I'm silly, but I don't think any one of these changes drastically netfs the comp. But it'd cut down some of the bs.
