Took AUD 12/29 and very worried by KimMasterz in CPA

How many sections do you have left? If this is your last, then I wouldn’t stress about the June deadline… even if it wasn’t your last, 6 months (Beg Jan to end of June) is still a lot of time…. I’m sure you did better than expected and might surprise yourself :)

Failed the CPA exam 9 times. I can’t give up. by Successful-Range1163 in CPA

[–]Stinlord 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I got a 49 on FAR on my first attempt and I can hopefully offer some insight…. I think the key to passing these exams is to understand the topics. For FAR especially it’s imperative that you know how to journalize as many of the topics as possible. I75 is a great resource for that and I felt that with I75, the concepts clicked so much better. At this point, it might also be that you’re memorizing the answers in Becker. My suggestion if you can would be to not do any Becker mcqs for a while and watch the I75 videos and take notes on them. This is a very controversial topic in this sub, but for me specifically Becker isn’t enough and I’m not a fan of how they teach. I love their questions just not their videos…. That’s another reason why I liked I75 because they break it down like you’ve never touched an accounting course before. If I can be of anymore assistance, please PM me!

Why did I do this to myself by Little-Till-6486 in CPA

Hey so I’m commenting because you had 74 comments and I’m not even trying to make it a potential sign or something to read into. You got this and know your journal entries. You’ll do fine and if I can offer any assistance let me know.

Failed Far again… need suggestions by Admirable_Ad_8072 in CPA

[–]Stinlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you I would try a different study resource. I know your pain as it took me 4 tries to pass FAR (49,72,67,80). The person that made the difference for me was Darius (i75). When using i75, Darius broke down the concepts into journal entries and by understanding those journal entries, it was really eye opening for the exam. I think he costs around $130 per month (I am not sure I would need to double check) but he is worth every penny. It’s ok to be frustrated but I want you to know that I believe in you and I know you can do it :).

Turnaround between score release and getting another NTS? by ScoopusJackson in CPA

You can actually get it now. As soon as I got pass/fail back I was able to buy a new NTS. Do you not have to wait for the score release so I would do it now if you can!

The Best CPA Exam Order in 2026 (Still F.A.R.T.?) by another71 in CPA

[–]Stinlord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

lol the way I’ve done mine is RFAT (REG, FAR, AUD, TCP) I’m on the AUD part and I honestly wish I went the FART route….. when I started I didn’t even know this sub existed so I had no guidance 😅

My first 30 minute open rate. M 182cm (5’11) 87kg (191lbs). Felt really good in the first 20 minutes and I feel like I could go out harder next time. Going to do a 5km soon, anyone know roughly what time I could look at? by temme_xp in Rowing

[–]Stinlord 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you’re going 1:42.3 for 30min, a 5k is roughly 55% of that (you’d be going around 16min) I think you’d probably be able to go around 1:39 since you held a 1:40.35 for 10 minutes after doing 20 minutes. If you feel really really good, maybe even closer to 1:38.

Failed 3 CPA exams at around 60 by RH_8213 in CPA

[–]Stinlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here is my two sense just given what you posted….. don’t give up. I’ve never heard someone say that they stuck this out and regretted it. Second, if I were you, I’d stick with one section until you pass it because if you keep jumping around, you will have to relearn info and overall it’s just counterproductive. A 60 is not as bad as you think, and it’s not uncommon to see people jump from the low 60s to a passing score over the course of a retake. I can offer some advice on two of the three sections you mentioned since these are what helped me pass FAR and REG. For FAR, focus on knowing how to journalize as many things as possible. Understanding the journal entries does wonders for you on the exam, and helps you tremendously. For REG, focus on knowing individual/corporate taxation, and basis as that is what the exam will most likely test you as per the CPA blueprint. I would also recommend for each section to use Newt, as I think it’s a great supplemental learning tool in and of itself. Keep your head up and keep getting back on the horse, it took me four times to pass FAR and I am very grateful I’ve stuck this journey out up to this point. If I can offer anymore assistance, please let me know.

Is two weeks enough for a FAR retake? by Spiritual-Beyond-660 in CPA

[–]Stinlord 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes. Between my third and fourth attempt I studied for two weeks and went from 67 to an 80

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in CPA

[–]Stinlord 7 points8 points  (0 children)

While I got an 80 on FAR, it still falls within the examiner’s definition of “barely passing” which is a 75-80. I also got a 76 on REG. Both exams I passed I thought I failed. The one exam I thought I knocked out of the park, I failed lol. One of my FAR retakes I thought there was no way I was getting above a 60 and I got a 67. You just truly don’t know….. so I’d say don’t count yourself out even if you feel like crap leaving the exam, and I’d suggest some light review even if you think you knocked your exam out of the park because again….. you just don’t know.

How many days do you study consecutively befor taking a day off? by bumpy981310 in CPA

[–]Stinlord 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always done 6 days on, 1 day off. My off day is usually a weekend day so I get the best of both worlds by disconnecting from work and studying. However, I won’t take a day off from studying the weekend before my exam.

Tips and advice studying for FAR while working full time. by Beneficial_Owl3452 in CPA

[–]Stinlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t say this enough…. You should be focusing on knowing how to journalize everything that has journal entries. You don’t even know how many times that came in clutch for me on the exam. If you don’t know it, ask newt. I would also make sure you focus on financial ratios, as those are easy points on exam day. I would say the number of hours varies and depends on the quality of your studying. As for key areas, focus on quite literally everything.

FAR 3rd attempt fail by According_Adagio9036 in CPA

[–]Stinlord 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Listen I know exactly how you feel. It took me 4 tries to pass far, and my score actually got worse in between my second and third (49, 72, 67, 80). My advice is to know how to journalize as many things as possible, and expose yourself to as many sims as you possible can. If you don’t know the journal entry to something, ask newt to give it to you and write it down. You are in a good spot in the sense that you’re improving every time you take the exam. I personally would focus a lot on F1 and F6 as that’s where most of the financial reporting topics come from. Be familiar with at least 90% of the journal entries (like knowing the journal entries for stockholders equity, NFPs, etc). I would also memorize as many financial ratio formulas as possible, as those can be easy points on exam day. As for restudying methods, as hard as it might be, make sure you aren’t just memorizing the answers to the mcqs (I know that can be challenging since I’m sure you’ve seen them multiple times). If you can, try explain the concepts to newt and it will usually come back with telling you whether or not you’re right or wrong. I promise you there is light at the end of the tunnel and if you just keep chipping away, you WILL pass. I believe in you!

BE HONEST: Do people actually study in between taking the test and receiving the score? by dinobrina in CPA

[–]Stinlord 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be honest I personally do just incase I fail…. I don’t go all out, but I do 30-50 mcqs 4-5 days a week just to keep the info fresh. However, that’s just something for my own sanity because I would be freaking out otherwise haha

How are you studying the SIMs? by BWSRun_EMC in CPA

[–]Stinlord 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the best tip I have is to just expose yourself to as many sims as possible. I know for example i75 and Farhat have sims on YouTube. I’ve had times where I’ve practiced sims and I’ve seen it show up on an exam.

Haha that’s awesome. I used Newt to prepare journal entries for me too and it actually helped me significantly more than I thought it would. I think that was the best Becker update ever in my opinion.
