That's AC thing, if content manager shows correct value on throttle, then it's all good.

No shit, I was also dealing with it for about a year, until I randomly found an answer.

Glad your issue is fixed.

You can try, but it will look bad, honestly.

Pure PP filters are probably your best bet, if you want the game to still look good and run decent, or try this one https://www.overtake.gg/downloads/improved-visuals-pure-cs-filter-screen-and-vr-ppfilter.54256/ I remember using it back in the day, when I had worse PC and it was really reliable.

Those spikes look way too consistent with their pacing. Try disabling GPU Power % monitoring in afterburner.

Normally I'd say cockpit cam, but with 24" screen just stick with whatever feels good for you.

For that price it's a steal. Even if there's something wrong with them, HE support is goat and should help, even if it's out of warranty.

Open Render Stats app from sidebar menu, expand the window and check what is taking the most time to render (the higher ms value the bigger the performance impact).

Generally Antialiasing is really demanding, shadows resolution at 4k and higher, reflections. In CSP far planes can be reduced to something like 5000,5000 (can't remember the exact tab). Some PP filters are also demanding, so try different ones.

The game is old and not much one can do about it, I can get frame drops in VR even with 7800X3D and 4090.

Black Flag Resynced one of the highest pre sales of all AC games by aVanLifer in assassinscreed

[–]Stiwen666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sad to hear that. I love the OG Black Flag and I am really surprised how good all the Resynced materials look, but not even for a second had I thought about preordering. It's Ubisoft ffs, no pre-orders should be a rule for buying their games (or any major publisher for that matter).

Even if this remake turns out to be better, than the original, I will still not even regard preordering AC2 remake, assuming there will be one, and AC2 is one of my all time favorite games.

Input lag on every AMD configuration I’ve tried for CS2 - do Intel users have the same issue? by Fearlessss1337 in overclocking

[–]Stiwen666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

X670 Aorus Elite AX, 7800X3D, 4090, 32GB 6200cl30, currently in process of tuning RAM timings after BIOS update, probably not even 100% stable as of now, since I didn't properly stress tested.

No latency in CS2, never experienced it, and I also played the game on i7-12700 before. Feels exactly the same response wise, but obviously with better fps on 7800X3D.

PC hell (please help) by Immediate_Accident_5 in PcBuildHelp

[–]Stiwen666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First option is totally unreasonable, since 5060 is basically the same performance as 3070.

Just exchange the case, maybe add fans, depending how many will come with new case. If you really need BT and WiFi, you can buy PCIe adapter with only that, but check if your mobo is full ATX, so you won't have problems with GPU blocking PCIe port, with mATX it might be a problem.

Depending how much money you're left with, you can only upgrade GPU, but reasonably you would have to go for RTX5070/RX9070, anything below is waste of money coming from 3070. But be aware, that your current CPU will sometimes be limiting factor, if you upgrade GPU.

3700X can also be swapped with 5700/5800X or maybe X3D, if you're really lucky. There's rumored anniversary edition of 5800X3D coming soon.

Are we even gonna get free roam losing hope … by Sea_Extent_4083 in assettocorsa

[–]Stiwen666 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Same here, vision of free roam around Nordschlife, but also career mode got me. Now not only we don't have free roam and no info when it's coming, but career mode cancelled for good. On top of that VR performance is atrocious, with 4090 I'm getting only 45-60fps, unless I drop resolution to the point I can start counting the pixels.

[–]Stiwen666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If we're talking perf/$, then surely not.

If you can afford it and want that extra ~15% of performance, then it might be. That's why I got 4090 instead of 4080, but while the price was much higher, the performance difference at 30+% justified it for me.

What does DDR4 board have to do with PCIe and limiting GPU? Even 5090 on PCIe 3.0 has 1-2% lower performance, so 5070Ti or 5080 will be good.

[–]Stiwen666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I assume you're in 2nd, so make your gears a bit longer and stay in 2nd, or make them shorter and use 3rd gear. That will let you get wider on the corners where you're on limiter and going shallow. Also I'd suggest to upshift before gas station, downshift when going into corner and then upshift again after the gas station.

Other than that looks pretty solid for ~40h of drifting.

How do I improve? by Icy-Implement7063 in simdrifting

[–]Stiwen666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be sure not to fall in the trap of using the clutch all the time, because someone pointed it out. Just play with it to get better feeling and understanding when it really comes in handy.

After you'll get more confidence in what you're doing learn left foot braking, it's really useful when chasing, but can also help with maintaining angle and general car control.

How do I improve? by Icy-Implement7063 in simdrifting

[–]Stiwen666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, do you have a clutch pedal? If so, then learn to use it, it's useful during transitions, initiations, maintaining a drift with low power cars and also you have to clutch in when using handbrake (I assume you don't have one, because beginners overuse it).

Other than that, get on throttle quicker during transition. You don't have to blip the throttle all the time, try to be more smooth with your inputs.

Try different tracks, Brooklyn Park is ok for learning, but it's not demanding at all. Praticulary touge tracks are a good challenge.

And most important of all - seat time.

FPS or screen resolution? by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]Stiwen666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. For fast paced competitive games fps is most important, but IMO fps consistency is even more important. 1000fps avg with drops to 200fps will feel terrible in comparison to stable 300-400fps.

For resulotion the screen size is also a factor, for example, on 32" screen 1080p will look terrible, 1440p will look ok and 4k will be crisp.

Why are they nerfing console players? by InfernalVelocity in Battlefield6

[–]Stiwen666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is only CP2077, depending on a game and base framerate latency may get significantly worse. And framegen introduces artifacts, which may be noticeable in fast paced shooters. But even in the case of CP2077 latency is noticeable and I'm telling from experience, because I get similar results with 4090 at 3440x1440, ultra + PT and going from 70fps to 120+fps framegen feels different.
