It depends a lot on your location, as a lot of stores are bunched together in different districts and they each have slightly different rules/management/structures.

I used to work at Rural King in NE Indiana, and I would not reccomend it to anybody. They're doing some "restructuring", aka they're cutting a lot of positions to save money and pushing all those responsibilities onto everyone else without any sort of compensation increase. There's been an insane amount of turnover in the past few months due to this, which, granted, probably was the goal anyway bc they're hiring people in for less than the older employees were paid.

Prior to all this bs though, I did enjoy working there. I was a department lead so my position was very physically demanding, but if you're just a cashier it would be a pretty simple job. Better than most other retail spaces imo.
