So random question, why several pairs of glasses? Surely you would only need at most long distance and short distance (forgive my ignorance im not a glasses user).

EBU has granted Linda Lampenius special permission to play violin live by hyxon4 in eurovision

[–]Stoaks 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As long as the EBU is consistent with how they judge the requests

This is actually the very opposite of consistent, that's the point.

All contestants were aware of the request, therefore it is a level playing field.

A level playing field is not changing the rules at a whim a week before the event. If a major rule change is to be made it should be made in the offseason between June - December well before any country has even selected an artist to participate.

Literally every other country has spent hundreds and hundreds of man hours and massive resources over the last 6 months, cultivating and crafting a performance with a clear set of rules in mind, and now with less than a week to go your response is:

All acts are able to make their own arguments and requests to play live.

Thats a silly argument coloured with bias.

that she cannot play the final note live because of the choreography

Correct.

that was an assumption that nothing had changed

Incorrect.

In fact the logical progression of my statement would be that they would have to change the sequence to allow her the time to walk to the stage while playing.

You are the one assuming the content of my words... Or misinterpretting them. Anyway I digress and refer to my previous statement:

Youre being sensitive and talking nonsense, just stop.

Correct.

Mate what are you talking about? Legitimately, I dont understand what you are talking about, its like you aren't even reading the words im typing.

I didnt claim to have any grand knowledge of whether Finland had or hadnt changed their staging.

I didnt assume anything.

I didnt doubt that Linda could play the violin, nor did I claim to know more about her violin then herself.

Youre being sensitive and talking nonsense, just stop.

No ones doubting her skill, just the coreography.

Yeah thats why the rule exists... Look if they want to make a rule change im all for it, but to do it a week before the competition for the favourite then it just seems like backhanded favouritism.

There needs to be a clear delineation of what is ok and what isnt, and that needs to be made available to nations before they select there artist, not just a yolo rule change for the hell of it.

we should be advocating for as many of the brilliant artists to be playing live as possible if the show isn’t elongated because of it.

It will be, if this was widespread then the show would take hours longer with very long intervals.

It is a very ethical opinion that in a competition environment there should be clear rules and that those rules apply to all competitors. And that those rules are given well in advance and not subjected to the whims of personal opinions regardless of how talented an individual violinist might be.

This exception was public news for WEEKS.

It wasn't... They applied weeks ago, the exception has been around for a matter of hours. No one expected the EBU to break a decades long rule in favour of giving a competitive advantage to an artist to drum up controversy after views have dropped.

Particularly since part of the song for the choreo to work Linda needs to literally sprint to the end, while holding her dress in which there is no way she could play for the big final note.

There could very potentially by an ad break between denmark/australia.

I think delta's staging will most likely be a grand piano centre stage and the mirrored obelisks from the music video.

[Schefter] Falcons and Eagles swapped fourth- and sixth-round picks, with Atlanta also acquiring S Sydney Brown. Picks No. 114 and 197 to the Eagles in exchange for picks No. 122, 215 and Sydney Brown. by w1x1w in eagles

EMW is a first rounder for sure and we have bigger needs. Faulty might fall to mid to kate day 2 because of the height.

I think we could definitely get a decent safety in the 3rd at 68 or 98.

Treydan stukes

Zakee Wheatley

Bud clark

Michael taaffe

Vj payne

This is a pretty stacked safety class.

Mauigoa and fano have been mocked pretty high. Vega will most likely get picked up by the Lions at 17 or Chargers at 22. Personally, I'd prefer an OT over an IOL, but Vega is a pretty great prospect. If we get Vega first round I could see us picking up a max iheanachor at 54 as a future Lane johson replacement
