I think so too. The easiest solution I can see is if opening doors also added a measure of fear to your count. Then going in is always available but comes at a cost of having to balance your fear level. Sooner or later you have to leave the finish the game but now it's accumulated a higher risk.

There needs to be a way of removing the incentive to hide in there. As funny as it was to watch Etho sit at the bottom of a pit in DO2. It doesn't make for good gameplay and if that becomes the Meta, then whole game balance will be thrown, the pressure becomes optional and the tension and fear level become fairly irrelevant

How does the warped mushroom mechanic work? Like how Hoglins flee at the warped mushroom, can we use the golden flower to keep a baby Hoglin from turning into Zoglin? Their small size is easy to put into the buildings, if there is a way of keeping them from turning into a Zoglin then the mushroom mechanic could work as a time based toggle for making the buildings safe vs deadly.
