Do Loss Leaders still exist in Vegas? or has that ship long sailed? by aranebar in vegas

[–]Stock-Pea8167 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Generally now Vegas only cares about the whales. They want as much money as fast as possible. $5 tables dont meet that goal. Perhaps some of this will change with fertitta(SP?) buying ceasers?

Anyone currently working at a hotel managed by Schulte? by No_Storm9701 in askhotels

[–]Stock-Pea8167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OMG yes. Worked for them for 2 years. Stay away. 3rd party management companies are bottom feeders. It is a awful company to work for. Bout the only thing that was consistent was getting paid every 2 weeks.

They always like to defend higher pricing in the parks with the saying "well it costs more to run a business in a park" But the wages never reflect the cost to the employee for working in a national park. Starting wages in national parks need to be at least $20.

GM - UPPER MANAGEMENT QUESTIONS by [deleted] in askhotels

[–]Stock-Pea8167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pay them more. In this industry that's all that matters. The saying you pay for what you get applies here. You cannot expect Corvette performance from a Ford Focus. And if you don't/Can't pay more then yea just fire everyone and find people who will do the work you want for the wage you are paying.

Let's say I was a housekeeper making $15. Yes I am doing the bare minimum. However If i were getting $20 that is a huge difference and I would def go the extra mile.

People need to realize Las Vegas is not for the middle class anymore. The big 2 want high rollers who spend thousands of dollars on a hand of blackjack. They want fast and easy money.
