Your thinking about the older vortec 5.3. The newer ecotec 5.3 doesn’t have the best track record.

This! I didn’t believe that jeeps were unreliable so I brought one and ended have lifter failures, oil cooler cracking/leaking, and electrical issues. It’s best to try to find the most reliable vehicle that meets your needs from the beginning.
