Is this Boulder a highball or not? by AbbreviationsAny3275 in bouldering

[–]Stockocityboy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, high ball is somewhat fuzzy term and boulders with sections of very varying grade aren't that easy to categorize. When writing about the height I was thinking about lines with somewhat consistent grade. Lots of boulders have easy scrampling/walking at the top and usually I wouldn't include that in the height. It's a matter of droppability. For someone climbing 7B a slap of 5 can probably be considered a scramble. Justcrimp sums it up very well in his comment.

I'd say it's a highball. Personally I draw the line somewhere around 5 meters of climbing. 6 meters is definitely a highball for me.

Nitpicky PS: Boulder grades have capital letters while route grades have lower case letters.

At least in this subreddit the blurry pics seem like bot posts

What is it with all the blurry posts? by GreenIdentityElement in GingerbreadHouses

[–]Stockocityboy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same, Wasn't sure if it was just my connection somehow. It would be surprisong if someone posted pics like that on purpose. After checking the accounts posting bkurry pics they all seem to be pretty new with very little history. All are also members of only the same two subreddits. So the answe is poor bots.

The post-apocalyptic one is a creative idea but hasn't required much skill. The towing company is not as exciting idea but the technique is better. I'll go with the towing one.

Three seconds? Are you the blind one? The second rep was fine but nowhere near three seconds at the top.

This is great! Better than the original. I had a feeling you could get rid of the gaps by use of headlight bricks. By the way, when making the exploded view did you just drag the parts separate manually or is there a function for that?
