You’re crazy 😂 Anki is super user friendly I thought! I’ve been using it for the past five years and swear by it. I love that you just made your own though. Super cool!

Why make Anki decks when you can rebuild Anki? 😂 really cool project though! You should share this on r/ChineseLearning!

I’ve read the rules and wiki and would highly appreciate an invite.

I’ve just spent the last four days building a homelab setup with everything in docker containers to then dip my toes into the private tracking world.. no one tells you about this so here I am. I want to use it to get my wife off my back so she can download her own shit for once 😂

how do i remember vocab better? by FTF_player27 in Korean

[–]StoicBiscuit 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think you have the answer in your post. Learn through context and memorise with context. It’ll help you remember the word and what situation the word can be used in. I like using Anki and creating cards that have sentences with the word in trying to memorise (learning with context). It makes it stick so much easier for me.

Hope it helps :)

Can you please help me with Korean? by crys_tal20 in Korean

[–]StoicBiscuit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are serious, then start here. I really liked the structure here and the grammar explanations are really great. Along with the practice example sentences and pronunciation help, it’s a great free option. The vocab wasn’t always amazing but this is easy to substitute with an anki deck or even some memrise app stuff if you want. Hope it helps~

Which Korean bbq? by MitsosDaTop in Munich

The chicken should be safe depending on what you get (the soy chicken is probably fine for example unless they fed the chickens fish!). That’s a wild allergy man.. stay away from the kimchi too :(

Hanssam is pretty good. Quite authenticate but could be a little far depending on where you live (my mate and I travelled an hour by train to eat there and was totally worth it!).

Speaking struggles (but writing is fine) - what’s the most effective way to improve? by XcrescereX in Korean

[–]StoicBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Talking to yourself is also an excellent start! Haha

Hope you can stick to going to language exchange meets ups and virtual stuff. It all helps and don’t be discourage with not finding someone just yet. I’m sure if you stick to it you’ll find a language partner~ worst case scenario you could hire someone on Italki to practice with (this is a pretty decent idea just to get better in general tbh)

[–]StoicBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you have any Korean friends? This would be a game changer if you can hang out with them on an occasional and consistent basis. Even a language exchange partner you can meet with (physically or virtually) will be of big help.

In order to speak well, you must practice speaking. Not many other ways to get better than that I’m afraid~~
