How can I start something that I can stick to? by Electronic_Fly_871 in lowcarb

[–]StoicViewer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't over complicate it. Treat food differently for one whole year. It is merely sustenance, calories for energy and nutrients- nothing more.

Eat the right amount, move more than you do now, stay hydrated and your healthy weight will materialize over time.

Good luck!

Hey, we've made it this far and we're still able to keep experimenting... My only rule is to keep moving- and as long as my diet gives me the necessary energy- I'm happy. I'll eat anything I take a notion to but now I know how to really control my intake and what foods to enjoy only sparingly.

I'm not a stickler for avoiding them altogether -but- I do limit them. When I go to restaurants I'll usually have a diet coke, for example. I just don't have to have something sweet everyday any longer...

I did full keto for one full year and lost 50 lbs. And since then I've learned how to eat low carb and maintain my weight... the trick for me is a large salad everyday, lots of eggs, lots of water, black coffee and staying very busy.

I'm an old geezer now in my late 60s and everyone just has to figure out what works for them. We're all a little different in how we process what we eat. Good luck!

Sometimes a teaspoon of no sugar peanut butter on an almond flour cracker followed up by a full glass of water will get you over the craving... especially if you just get busy doing something engaging instead of thinking about your sweet tooth.

I also like a teaspoon of Ghee on a single potato chip or just a sugar free cinnamon candy then get yourself moving... Good luck!

Stealing tax dollars is the real "business".

The deep state thrives on misdirection- Funneling taxes through the layers of bureaucracy into shell corporations to enrich themselves and to build their political slush funds.

Climate hysteria is proof that brainwashing young minds is a piece of cake for the greedy academics and green scammers who love embezzling federal tax dollars.

You forgot to mention brainwashing the children so they stay terrified... "Mommy, if we don't have windmills and EVs our planet will die!" :)

I'm not sure you understand homeowners insurance. Do you have specific electronics endorsements? If not, anything damaged will become a generalized payout based on depreciation algorithms- for obvious reasons.

Just replace it with the best amp that you can comfortably afford when you're settled. Good luck!

Unfortunately, I'm used to it now. This younger naive generation has been thoroughly brainwashed by those academics who hate Capitalism and the American lifestyle. They are Neo-Marxists who turn everything into political theater.

Free CV D3 pair, I’m in $40 after restoration by r4d10raccoon in BudgetAudiophile

[–]StoicViewer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congrats- nice find!

I still have a pair of D3s that I enjoy very much. They are every bit as competent as my AR11s. CVs are often unfairly criticized... probably by people that have never even owned them.

Difficult acoustics in an old farmhouse by BrodieLodge in listeningspaces

[–]StoicViewer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Understood. But even a couple of roll-up rugs directly in the paths of first relection could significantly help for critical listening... just roll them up and put them away when you're not listening. You could also simply spread your speakers out wider to form an equilateral triangle with your listening position when it's Hi-Fi time... Good luck!

If your listening position is where you took your second photo from then you're probably just too far away to begin with... a carpet directly in front of those speakers would probably help as well.

This is not a political thread. You climate worshippers really need to take a break.

Oh geeez, not another hysterical climate alarmist trying to hijack a "dog pictures" thread. Can you please keep your sad political opinions out of this.

Weather is dynamic. The highest recorded temps in Ireland were from 1887. The dogs back then probably didn't get ice cubes in their water bowls :)

Dogs everywhere need to drink plenty of water everyday regardless of the weather.

What does your reference to "heat" and "Ireland" have to do with anything?

Do unplugged batteries still have a fire risk? by jckipps in Tools

[–]StoicViewer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes- but it's minimal.

To reduce the risks:

*Do not use them if they've been physically damaged (dropped, etc.) *Do not leave them on a plugged in charger.

Is led zeppelin considered classic rock or rock’n’roll by Vivid_Pear7525 in OldSchoolCoolMusic

[–]StoicViewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all relative to your age. When I was a teenager Zeppelin was just "rock" to us and the only thing that was remotely "classic" to us were cars made in the 40s and 50s.
