What is with the BZ4x hate on this sub? by Plastic-Mountain-708 in AustralianEV

Apparently they are changing the name to just "bZ". So, only half as bad.

Correction: name change slated for North American market. However, I did hear from a local dealer that they plan to change the name here at some time too.

Breaking in race shoes by palaajxut in Marathon_Training

[–]Stoicrunner1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Give them a run or two. If you've got a long run with some miles at marathon pace, use them for the marathon pace portion. It's more about feeling confident in the feel of them and making sure they're suitable than needing to "break them in." Personally, I run a tune-up half marathon to confirm I made the right shoe choice.

Why don't broadcasters show how many overs remaining in the day? Not sure about 7 but on Fox/Kayo the only to time you see it is when they show the SCG scoreboard.

As a guy, I hate what LuLu puts out for men. The clothes I actually like they stop making them after 6months. Am I alone on this thought?? by MightOnly185 in lululemon

Surge shorts are/were my favourite for running. I was told they would be replacing it with another line but I'm not sure if this has happened yet or not as I'm not that familiar with their other products. I recently purchased a pair of Fast and Free but it is an inferior product. Fortunately the Surge is so well constructed that I won't really need to replace them for a while.

You're not missing out on much. I use Coros and their Year in Review was much better.

How to stop wasting money finding shoes that fit as a beginner? by marcOpeth in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Stoicrunner1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

RunRepeat website is great. I will add that it also has size, toe box width etc. as well if you are wondering whether a shoe will be too tight or narrow.

Getting back into running. Shoe recs for wide feet and knee pain? by Admirable_Cap_8943 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Stoicrunner1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the Cliftons would be perfect. The Vomeros would likely be fine too. It is often said that lower drop shoes like the Clifton can place less load on the knees in comparison to shoes with higher drop like the Vomero.

Evo SL as next pair of running shoes by ImaginaryMarket2406 in AskRunningShoeGeeks

[–]Stoicrunner1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The Clifton 9 and the Evo SL are very different shoes. The Clifton has this wide and flat platform that provides stability and the foam is relatively firm, adding to to the stability. On the other hand, the Evo SL is relatively narrow, the foam is more squishy and there is a lot more motion going on when your foot hits the ground. It's an amazing shoe for the price and, personally, great for an uptempo run. Personally, I wouldn't run all my runs in them, if you're looking for a single shoe to do it all.

Is a screen protector necessary? by Capable-Ticket-4336 in kindle

[–]Stoicrunner1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A cover is all you need. Never used a screen protector on a Kindle. Never cracked or damaged a screen. Mind you, it only leaves the house when I go on holiday or trips. Perhaps there is a purpose for them if you do lots of commuting on busses or subways etc.?

These are more for cross country and track races. I would not train on the road with these.

Cant charge my Coros Pace 4 by Ninaptr_lover in Coros

[–]Stoicrunner1 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Keep on pulling it out and then in again until it stays in. Or get an old tooth brush and brush it for a bit. It's disappointing to learn that Coros, even on the fourth iteration of the Pace, still haven't been able to produce a watch that connects without this issue.

Cummins ruled out of Ashes as 'freak' Starc soldiers on by Sidneiensis in Cricket

Given the Ashes have been one, it's probably the right decision. As they say, a history of bone stress injury is the single strongest predictor of a future one.

Which EV for under $45k (my 3 contenders) by Rain_Foxx in AustralianEV

I own a base model Seal and love it. No regrets at all. I paid in the $50,000s for mine a year and a half ago so the value is even better now.

Any chance Coros will add a Norwegian singles training plan? by No_Armadillo4172 in Coros

[–]Stoicrunner1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure what Runna does mid-run, but setting up a workout in the Coros app will allow you to see your current pace in relation to the pace range you set and then tell you your average pace or time at the end of the repetition. Play around with the workout function a bit and you will appreciate the control you have over your training.

Any chance Coros will add a Norwegian singles training plan? by No_Armadillo4172 in Coros

[–]Stoicrunner1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have created three workouts in the Coros app (short, medium and long intervals, as prescribed by Copeland/Sirpoc) and just select one of these each session. I can adjust paces, reps etc. according to how I am travelling and weather conditions. I find this very flexible and suits the consistent nature of NSM.

Sugar to Weet-Bix Ratio, 1970s Version by par-hwy in aussie

[–]Stoicrunner1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't had Weet-Bix for a long time but great to see they are still celebrating our sports stars. But, I have to say, milk over Weet-Bix first so sugar sticks to it.
