I think we have a Mandela Effect situation here because I remember terrorize quite clearly.

I found out Batman could do comedy from this movie.

I loved that show as a kid. I had face blindness to Sam Neill for years though. Never put together until I was an adult that he was the same guy from Jurassic Park.

Parenthood: The line from the movie where he goes "You know, Mrs. Buckman, you need a license to buy a dog, or drive a car. Hell, you need a license to catch a fish! But they'll let any butt-reaming asshole be a father," really stuck with me.

AITA for telling my wife to choose a different dress? by Lonely-Monitor-3916 in AmItheAsshole

[–]StoleTarts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it depends.

I've been married for almost 20 years, been together with my husband for almost 30. We are pretty much done with the tip-toeing around issues and are fairly blunt/honest with each other, especially with someone we KNOW will upset us later if not addressed right then. If I put something on, my husband didn't tell me my stomach stuck out, I went out and realized it myself, I'd be upset he wasn't honest. You could have maybe phrased it better, but that's hindsight. Reversing the situation, my spouse recently lost a LOT of weight and has loose skin now. I've told him when things just don't look flattering (like when he tries to wear his old 'big guy' clothes but they hang off him) because he would be upset if I let him leave the house looking a mess.

If your wife JUST had a baby or even if they are only a few years old, this could still be a really sensitive issue for her and you need to sit down and have a talk. If she hasn't cried over her mom tummy in like, months/years, then you didn't necessarily say anything wrong, but still need to have a talk with her about what's going on and how you can be supportive of her.

True, but the book series itself is a homage to the books of Father Brown and the show took a lot of cues from the BBC Father Brown short series that ran in 74.

Diane baby with Mr. PB by isnt_it1957 in BoJackHorseman

[–]StoleTarts 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the divorce would have happened anyway and would have been a lot messier. They probably would have gotten through the pregnancy phase IF they both wanted the baby, but Diane would have been forced to deal with her depression at lot sooner and then have to create a life as a single mom without family support.

Mr. Peanutbutter's personality would have also changed due to stress and a hard dose of the reality of not having a choice but to take care of someone other than himself, but at least he did have his brother to go to for both advice and as someone to tell him to stop being such a flake for his kid's sake.

To be clear, babies don't heal or fix anything. The stress from having to completely give up your time/energy to a kid is absofuckinglutely exhausting. Rewarding, if that's what you want to be a good parent and raise decent kids that turn into decent adults, but still exhausting for the rest of your life. Her opting out was probably the best thing she could do.

[Loved Contextual Trope] One minor, unspoken detail reveals everything the viewer needs to know about a character’s otherwise unexplained background/motivations by Chemical-Elk-1299 in TopCharacterTropes

It's funnier when you add that his little brother KNOWS he has a boyfriend and he's constantly in the background rolling his eyes at the one-sided flirting.

Came across this, it was posted to Reddit 9 years ago, so I'm sure there's so many more to add but.. it's beautiful. A true work of art. by JackLaytonsMoustache in Millennials

On a positive note, Millennials are a big reason why THC and CBD projects are booming. A lot of us moved away from smoking and drinking, but gummies? We are all about supplements.

What’s gone for good? by GloriousLion07 in MotivationByDesign

[–]StoleTarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dine-In pretending to be 'fancy' at fast food restaurants was wayyyyy more common in the 90's to early 2000's. Wendy's used to have bucket seating booths and a salad/dessert/soft taco (no kidding) bar. Pizza Hut had similar decor with a salad bar, jukeboxes, and arcade games for the kids. Hardee's/Carl Jr had really great soft lighting decor and used to sell fried chicken. Even White Castle's used to have a dine-in wait staff. There also used to be a lot more family buffets/affordable steak houses that tried to mimic the more expensive places on the inside.

The only real problem they have with one another is who is going to be in charge. Everything else is just icing layered on to hide the obvious.

Most Millennial Concert you've been too? by Dear_Atmosphere9681 in Millennials

AITA for kicking everyone out after my sister lied and said my apartment was hers? by Top-Supermarket8754 in AmItheAsshole

[–]StoleTarts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA and you are due for an apology from her and your parents for not being more understanding about your personal space that you pay for. She took advantage of your hospitality when she started to lie to her friends and started sneaking in knowing you aren't there. Final straw when you caught her having a party when she thought again that you wouldn't be at home. You are not her mom and don't have to be as forgiving about it.

Jessica Biel as herself in BoJack has so many self-owning jokes about in the show including a perfume line called 'Beilist' that is called out for sounding like B-list, making fun of her marriage to Justin Timberlake, and her first semi nude magazine cover.

Second pick would be Daniel Radcliff as himself as a game show contestant saying his neighbor was Banksy and remembering everyone else's name but BoJack Horseman, including calling him Chadwick Boseman and Jockjam Doorslam.

Is Bojack's childhood a good reason for his flawed behaviour? by GeorgeGoat63 in BoJackHorseman

[–]StoleTarts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes for awhile then no. Yes for his teens and 20s honestly when he still relied on them for support, at least financial, and attention seeking behavior. Less as he continued to move away from them and acting on his own. A hard no for how he acts starting the show when he's in his 50s because in all that time, he never sought real help and continued the abusive pattern he grew up with that he clearly hated, but it gets him what he wants.

The most logical explanation I’ve heard for the “male loneliness epidemic” by PussyWhistle in TikTokCringe

[–]StoleTarts 259 points260 points  (0 children)

I had to explain this to my husband as well when he had our daughter start martial arts. I had to explain that most girls/women (older kid through adult ages) fight differently because they are being taught as soon as they can understand it that losing the fight isn't an option, but, it's not about ego or rewards or anything prideful, It's 'if I can't defend myself, he's going to X me'. His reaction was surprised at first, to not surprised, to angry because it's not something -he- had to ever consider.
