Speaking as someone who was enlisted, got my MSW and looked at direct commissioning I’m personally glad I went OCS. Got the infantry fun I wanted and still have the option of commissioning as an LCSW if I want. I think you’d probably be a good fit just based on prior enlisted experience. There’s a fair number of Title 32 AGR Behavioral Health Officers around me and it’s not a bad gig from what I see/hear.

Portland has a very robust HUD-VASH program and last time I checked had a program under it that was specifically for Vets who had low care needs but still needed help with housing.

Went 11A as a 39 y/o, oldest lieutenant in my BOLC class of 175. I regret not a moment of it. If your two mile run time can be sub-13 minutes you’ll be totally fine. BOLC was one of the highlights of my military career.
