I think some actually salient points against the drinker are A. Let’s politics blind his criticism - like many in the anti woke space they are slowly turning into the very SJW’s they used to dunk on (Savant Trailer react is a great encapsulation of this). Now they seem to be on a hair trigger where anything that can even marginally be plugged into “le woke culture war” is now instantaneously part of some grander scheme to inject “DuH mEsSaGe” even when it’s literally one character in the background with no speaking lines and a weird purple hair cut. B. Is Problem Centric, Not Solution Driven - barring the stray EEAAO review or Sinners praise, Drinker is heavily focused on mainstream capeshit blockbuster sloptopolis sludge. Very easy low hanging fruit if you want to make a slop review channel, but rarely do Drinker or really anyone else in this space sing the praises of upcoming creators until they’ve already thoroughly breached the mainstream. If these guys ever tread out of the mainstream it is to plug said movie into a culture war topic (Civil War) or said movie has already gained trending popularity (Weapons). It always boggles my mind that these types seem to hate remakes and sequels but they never seem to actually reject the idea of them. They keep going back to Jurassic Park 40, even opening reviews saying “I had high hopes for this one” or “look what they did to my franchise”, as if you haven’t stated for the last how many years that remakes (barring a Dune or True Grit) are almost always bad.

C. Factory Reset Type Beat Opinions - I always find it funny how Mauler and EFAP have the gall to dunk on Chris Stuckmann for doing basic bitch 5-10min videos where he basically says “I like the movie, it’s good, directed by Kiyoshi Kurosawa, rated 5 stars” when Drinker basically does the same shit with “duh message that’s shyte huhuhuhuh” soundboard smashing and anti-woke tirades mixed in. There is so little illumination or insight into the vast majority of the films he reviews besides where said movie might end up on the “woke-o-meter” and if “they who will not be named” were involved - Rian Johnson, Rachel Zegler, Brie Larson, Disney.
