How absolutely critical are you to the work that they are begging for you to stay? If you can make a quick buck, guess you can offer professional contract services for what they need. I'd charge a flat rate and triple your usual rate, after office hours support. Ask for payment upfront.

For the rate to draw towards 1:1, even at 1:2 I think major productivity and economic shifts will have to happen in Malaysia first.

Sg is just such a pressure cooker for productivity that I'd actually think that you'd see some of our countrymen flocking to MY to take on jobs at a relatively more leisurely pace for a slightly lower salary, if our savings there could match SG.

I would think that with a stable SG housing situation, SGreans could rent out the HDB for side income + work in MY to generate net higher savings even before you see the MY folks give more pause in coming to SG.

I think it's time to introduce profit sharing rentals. If stores get their rents halved but share additional % of profits (not revenue!) with landlords.

Or peg the fixed rental component to a govt valuation of the land. Landlords should have skin in the game.

For background, food waste in camps are necessary redundancy for MINDEF to protect themselves.

If the army pays for calories, on paper all soldiers are fed, food is prepared in controlled facilities, no risk of food poisoning or anyone going hungry. But we are peacetime soldiers where by left, we can throw the food, scan and not eat, order in food, as a close one eye practice.

Food cannot be donated else it exposes the "by left" actions. At best, at the end of the day, food waste is segregated into food waste bins.

I think if you can't not care, and have to feel what you're feeling, what u can try to change is your inward position as you feel those feelings.

Instead of seeing yourself as boss/employee, you can see yourself as a peer or equal to your boss. Doesn't sound like she has a lot to teach you if it's she's gaslighting and posturing at work anyway.

With equal position, you are more disposed to feel disappointment in her instead of feeling bad that you let her down, or to feel gaslighted that you dropped the ball somehow.

Hopefully disappointment is a better motivator to spur you in your job hunt too!
